Multiplayer - Noob Questions

Hi All,

I've signed up for tonight's Mini Challenge, and I've just driven on the server for half an hour to see how that was. I found the position warping a little disconcerting, and occasionally ended up off-line and a a bit surprised as the game synchronised again. I'm playing through a wireless connection to my Cable internet.

My question is this: is the warping normal? I sometimes seem to move about 20m from where I was. Is it going to be worse when there are other players online? This was just me on my own...

I recommend to use wired internet. The warping is a typical result of using wireless internet.

Wireless connections can have a little bit of lag at times as the wireless manager likes to poll for new available connections all the time preventing you from getting consistent flow of data. There are fixes for this if you do some searches on the internet about lag on wireless but the downside is that you have to deal with changing it if your system is a laptop and you take it everywhere.

For tonight, seeing as my wife and kiddies are away at the moment and I can get away with it, I've just trailed a CAT 5 cable across through the house from the router to the PC
