Welcome to the RD Racing Club. Due to the success of the multiclass experiment last week, we are now taking our Audi's and Mazda's to the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari (in short Imola). On Sunday the F1 Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna is held here and also our own GT3 event. So sign up and learn the track from the view of Lewis, Max and the others. You will notice that watching their onboards will be more fun after you raced here yourself.

Especially the new and inexperienced drivers are recommended to participate. There are a lot of learning opportunities like overtaking and blue flag situations but without the intensity and stress of the GT3 cars or the endurance multiclass cars. It's also good step up for those kind of events.

THE GT3 EVENT ON SUNDAY WILL ALSO TAKE PLACE HERE ON THIS TRACK!

By joining here you can learn the racelines, overtake spots and even the brakepoints of the track in a car that's less demanding than the GT3's and have a lot of fun at the same time.

A message to all Drivers,

If you run off track, you have to check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Do not just keep the gas pinned and pull back on track.

When entering the track from the pits, stay off the racing line until you are up to speed. Do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by. On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

Golden Rule
  1. If you hit somebody off the track and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, and that way you can be 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in Discord. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium

I suggest to explain clearly what are the track limits here at imola, the last time i raced here with the TT Rookie cup was a mess, they litterally cut T12-13 and the chicane.

Anyway, great circuit, i hope that i don't have to sign out this time

Is it ok to take a TT (which I have driven in a few races) or given my dismal performance at brands should I stick with the MX5?
It's ok. Of course I would like a 50-50 grid but if a great majority chooses for the Audi, I will make it a single class event of a multiclass with an other car. Time will tell if that happens.

Personally I would like some sort of arrangement that we switch cars for a second event so that we can have that 50-50 mix and everybody has the change of driving the faster car.

Actually, come of think of it, I could do that by organizing two events with the second one closed so I as an admin can add the participants and switch cars from the first event.
Of course than gentleman's agreement to show up for both events.

How does that sound to you?

Nice track choice  This time I would like to give the Audi a try as it's a new car for me.

Hi Andreas, you finished 12th overall but 2nd in the MX5 class. Do you see that podium place in the s.gp stats?

I'm in for Wednesday, unless Bram arranges a rookie race for Monday. I would prefer the Audi as I have driven that quite a bit but will give the Mazda a go, if necessary.

Also, I think I have sorted out my Discord for RD server.

Not going to be able to make this race but I'll be purchasing my very own Mazda so... :D I hope anyone trying to register makes it in, given the GT3 issues, I hope my deregistration was done before a full grid of drivers could register.

Cheers, and have a great race at Imola, everyone! Hope to see you Sunday in the GT3s

I just grabbed the last Mazda place, as I had to give up this evening's race

Imola is really a special track for me, because I live in the surroundings, been there some times already (always off track unfortunately), and one of my office colleagues works there as a marshall (I'm so envious that he will be there next weekend for the formula 1!)

Okay, I consider that a serious advantage. I'll arrange a 15kg BOP for you :p .

I swear my driving there is and will be as poor as on any other track :roflmao:
Just love the track because it's one of those old style ones that deserves not to be forgotten. Pure driving pleasure!

If I manage to upload them, I'll post somewhere a link to the photos I made last time I was there.

I think it's my favourite track. I will make a final decision next sunday! Delighted it's next week as brands is firmly down in the bottom 3!

In with the mazda for this. It's usually nice and sunny at imola!

Some photos of the last visit. I know they're not varied but the event was closed to the public due to covid restrictions, and that was the only point accessible from outside the track where you could have some view of the track. It's the Acque Minerali area, I'm sure that you will recognize it in some of the larger field of view images.

T12 and T13 are cut a lot also in real life, trust me, at least according to what I saw there. I think that given we don't have any "referee", let alone in real time, we should stick with what the game allows to do, but that's just my opinion.
