Welcome to the RD Racing Club. This week we will precede again the Formula 1 drivers to Portugal to the beautiful Algarve International Circuit, better known as Portimao.
It's famous for its constantly undulating nature with big downhill slopes and right-hand turns after the main straight. The track is also good for overtaking because of the circuit width.

Especially the new and inexperienced drivers are recommended to participate. There are a lot of learning opportunities like overtaking and blue flag situations but without the intensity and stress of the GT3 cars or the endurance multiclass cars. It's also good step up for those kind of events.

THE GT3 EVENT ON SUNDAY WILL ALSO TAKE PLACE HERE ON THIS TRACK!

By joining here you can learn the racelines, overtake spots and even the brakepoints of the track in a car that's less demanding than the GT3's and have a lot of fun at the same time.

All premium members can sign up for this event and slots are limited so make sure to tag a friend! This event will take place on the newly developed platform Simracing.GP and it's extremely easy to join!

• Cars: Audi TT Cup/Mazda MX5 Cup
• Track: Algarve International Circuit https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/algarve-international-circuit.2874/
• 20.00 CEST, 19.00 BST (18:00 UTC) | Practice (1 hour 20 minutes)
• 21.20 CEST, 20.20 BST (19:20 UTC) | Qualification (10min Audi, 10min MX5)
• 21.40 CEST, 20.40 BST (19:40 UTC) | Race (40 minutes)

IMPORTANT: Qualify is split (not forced, gentleman's agreement). First 10min for the Audi's, second 10min for the MAZDA's. Don't go on track in the window of the other car class.

Important: s.gp servers are configured to start up only if at least 6 persons have registered.
So with less registered drivers the event will automatically be canceled at startup time.

A message to all Drivers,

If you run off track, you have to check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Do not just keep the gas pinned and pull back on track.

When entering the track from the pits, stay off the racing line until you are up to speed. Do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by. On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

Golden Rule

1. If you hit somebody off the track and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
2. Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, and that way you can be 100% sure you will not get a ban.

Track limits

1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please.
   You will be penalized if you break our rules

Extra information regarding s.gp vs RD servers:

THE TRACK LISTED IN S.GP (Drag200) ISN'T THE TRACK WE'RE GOING TO RACE. IT'S ONLY BECAUSE PORTIMAO ISN'T AVAILABLE ON S.GP.

As most of you know we encountered some stability problems with events organized through s.gp. The people of the platform are working hard to solve it but until then we will go back to the 'old' RD servers.
There will still be an event listed on S.gp for easy finding, but it will be a closed event to force sign up through this thread, which is the only way to organize with the RD servers.

The consequences are:
- you have to post here to sign up with your choice of car.
- you can't choose your livery anymore
- results are not recorded on s.gp nor are your stats updated.
- a staff member will fire up the race RD server manually at starting time.
- staff have more work to do for preparation.
- the s.gp event will not start due to the lack of participants.

Our apologies for the inconvenience. We trust that this situation will be temporarely and that the problems with s.gp will be solved.

Hi and because I haven't seen you before, welcome!

The download link for the track can be found in the first post. After installing it, please go to the practice server and see if it works.
And because you're new, please read the 1st post very carefully especially about our rules. There also more of that in the 2nd post.
And make sure you enter your real name in your RD account. Click on ACCOUNT in the upper right corner, go to account details and there you will find a entry field for your real name.

If you want to join this event, than let me know your choice of car.

As far as I know, not. Chris had some smart, nerdy, IT-ish, self developed tool for this with using the steam id's, but that's for me a bridge too far now. As we go back to s.gp, you can choose your livery again.

In please, never driven the Audi so I'll give that on a go
