Mouse control from steering wheel?

I like the idea of being able to control the mouse pointer whithout having to stretch my arm to reach the mouse on my desktop. I have a T300 and there's a very nice place on the front left of the base where I could stick or screw a trackpoint or a small touch pad or trackball. The mouse buttons would be the buttons on the right of the base, remapped via script. Any idea if any of these exist as independent usb devices? Any other alternative?

Why don't you use joytokey to remap your buttons. You could use only one button that would change all the buttons when pressed and return them to the usual game function when released. That way you can have the d pad as moving cursor and other buttons as mouse 1/2/3.
