Hype continues to build for DAKAR 18 with a few more images of the stages set to feature in this potentially awesome off road sim.

Ok fair enough we've all probably had enough of looking at scenery and want to see some actual in game driving action, but nevertheless you have to admit the daily image reveal of the various stages do look pretty impressive visually, and do a great job of capturing the kind of magic that is world renowned on this most incredible form of off road motorsport.

With DAKAR 18, the officially licenced racing simulation of the 2018 DAKAR Rally still under heavy development ahead of a public release later this year, we will just have to make do with what we have available to us to enjoy for now won't we? That reminds me, I really need to get that interview booked in.. Ooops..

Back when the game was first announced at the start of the year we were promised some moving images from in game in March, so (hopefully) not long left now and we will finally get a first impression of what we can expect to be playing for ourselves later this year.

Personally I think it's a great time to be a sim racer and have high hopes for this title. Dakar is undoubtedly one cool form of motorsport, and if this upcoming game captures even 50% of the challenge afforded by the real thing, then we are surely in for something of a spectacular treat...

DAKAR 18 is scheduled to release 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Whatever state it might be in, we already have received more screenies from Dakar 18 than from that other game that is also supposed to come out this year: GTR3.

Maybe gameplay will be added later in a future dlc or maybe it will be available if you preorder the super duper deluxe season pass

Well, modern gaming industry dictates the rules that mean you either release full game at day 1 and then abandon it completely and move on to the next project, or you're go breaking bad with all the EA/Public Beta/future updates and DLC things, this way you can keep the title more long-term project. And for those sinners who love what they're doing and do what they love - the 2nd scheme is much more useful. So for the players i think too. (longer game support, multiplayer etc).

Is the trailer in-game or just CGI?

These shots got a great lighting!

But are they in-game? Because we don't need Instagram filters like we live on Mars planet...we still live on the Earth, after all!
They should not dramatize anything, but portrait the real life lighting, if possible...and with UE4 is possible.

I think this is CGI. Not entirel sure, but the rocks look like phototextures and not procedural, and if you come closer to them ingame... well, i assume you played flightsim.

Oh yes, that might be the solution! And only need one race to get plenty of scrap to build a stronghold of your desire's. From there you can start to att... Well, just continue collecting scrap to build a castle and your kingdom all over the place. But just need to find a towhitch for Interseptor and a really big trailer :coffee:

So their cars can go forward in a straight line and have a bonnet, that's awesome.
