Again i feel the need not to prepare properly and pay the price in qual, although the pace was rather scorching hot tbh....a good launch away and all nice and safe driving with all around me and had some lovely racing mainly with Yves then a chase down on N. Hamilton to finish in 4th.
Another decent launch for race 2 and find a nice gap to approach T1 and have my braking done nicely ready to follow J. Adgie when suddenly i feel a knock and the back of my car goes out to the right and im consquently being spat off to the left side of the track,Yves is also coming with me,i see in the replay he is actually collected first,im a third pary that eventually gets collected after a pit of "R8 Pinball" when one red car arrives a bit too hot and tries to shoehorn his car into a non-gap triggering of chaos for others, also through all this these guys look to be keeping their throttle foot firmly buried just pushing things out their way,and then merrily getting on with the race as if nothing happened......not fully in the club spirit i think.
It all turned out good as i had a real good race with many passes and little battles,a very late push to steal C. Crompton's 3rd place from him :p,when he had a wide moment out the marbles at T4 i stuck my nose in for a cheeky look,Colin showed sharp awareness and gave me racing room to complete the move, although i was always prepared to back out if need (honest) :).
Many Thanks Yves and RD

{Footnote} Im also a bit angry on Kimmo's behalf having his signed up for rightful place basically "Stolen" from him....horrible tactics that are very much not in the spirit of Club Racing!!!!,i hope serious repercussions come of this or it makes a mockery of the whole sign up system.

I would highly doubt it is in the Mini's fuel load range with it being 80 minutes. Lots of acceleration happening :), I don't think there's a single corner where you just let off/feather the throttle.

I could be wrong on that though - only had a quick shufti.

Personally I think the GTP Mod cars are a waste of time as they are clones (he admitted to this with slight adjustments) of cars from BEFORE the patch which altered performance. So just like the Vectra (which also wasn't updated, hence why we don't use it) they are not in balance. Plus it would be foolish to take one of them for an endurance event with their much smaller fuel tanks.

The GTS Mod cars are not clones and while faster than the standard GTS cars, they are a lot more fragile, definitely evening it out over an endurance event, especially at an engine hungry track like Nords.

It's hardly foolish - i decided to take the MC12 because i like driving it, i don't care that i have to pit more often and i certainly wouldn't just pick the quickest car. I ran all the GTP cars at Donington National a while back and it turned out that the mod cars are a few tenths faster on the stock setups but when you consider they will have to pit 1 or 2 more times in a race that evens out well.

I managed to outqualify a few of the GTS mod cars in a GTC Viper at Paul Ricard so they aren't as quick as everyone seems to think they are. They are also harder to drive and more prone to mechanical failures

If you do take them out, I'll be in the Corvette C6R instead.

Sorry James, foolish was the wrong word to use. More 'brave/foolhardy'. But as they aren't matched up with the others as they were I don't think they should be used.

The GTS cars are quicker and more lively/fragile, but it depends who drives them of course
