Monaco Grand Prix - Complete track update for Monaco AMS

Hi Guys

Here we have another one of my track updates, this the famous Monaco Grand Prix.

As with all my track updates I've tried my best with all the texture updates and other settings that have being added.

Update details:

- All buildings have being reworked, added or changed
- New tarmac surface
- All barriers and walls have being reworked
- New skies added
- Atmosphere added
- New water textures added
- Loading screen added

Tree's and bush texture update

Hi Guys

I do apologize for such a quick update but I had to try and fix the problems with all the trees and bushes.

Most I have being able to fix and replace with new one's. one must also remember that this is a old track.

Big improvements you will notice around Beau Rivage, Massenet, Casino, Mirabeau Haute, Grand Hotel Hair Pin, Mirabeau Bas, Portier and Antony Noghes corners where most of the problems were.

Complete landscape re-texture with new banner textures

Hi Guys

This was supposed to be a bit of a chill day for me but I just had find a way to some how make the landscape look a bit more inviting to race.

If you have a previous version of this track please first delete the old Monte Carlo track file and then install this updated version.

So I finally figured out all the textures and have just about replaced every tree, bush, branch and everything else that makes up the Monaco landscape.

The track looks so much...

Companion, the Sun looks bad and inside a black square.
You have to edit the SCN and change the Instance = skyboxi.
Delete the "SkyEuroAltHazy.Mas", etc, and also edit the first lines of the SCN, more or less like this:

RandomMASFile = CloudsDefault
MASFile = CloudsDefault.MAS
MASFile = SkyEuro.MAS
MASFile = COMMONMAPS.MAS
MASFile = sky.mas

Or also:
MASRandomFile=CloudsRandomA
MASFile = CloudsDefault.MAS
MASFile = SkyEuro.MAS
MASFile = COMMONMAPS.MAS
MASFile = sky.mas

If you want when I have time, I prepare a patch and I send it to correct the errors, including the sun ...

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.

I did notice yesterday that I still had the old scn and gbd files in the upload.

I always use a temp track file to make my updates to prevent any loss of data but transferred the whole file when uploading.

Busy uploading a updated version now.

Cant for the life of me get this track to load. Get some sort of mesh file error SRPL/cant load to memory. If it helps I have no other problem simply installing and playing your Baku & Malaysia. Any ideas (I do have the commonmaps/gsc installed in locations) what I may not be doing?

I still never understand how one person can have an error yet all others are fine.

Computers can be a strange thing sometimes.

Anyway, the only thing that comes to me and I want you to try this first.

Your scn file is currently setup this way in the montecarlo folder in the montecarlo file where your tracks are located.

RandomMASFile=CloudsDefault
MASFile=CloudsDefault.MAS

MASFile=sky.mas
MASFile=MonteCarloF111.mas
MASFile=MonteCarloF111Trees.mas

Change to:

MASFile=MonteCarloF111Map.mas

See if this works and let me know.

You must also have the COMMONMAPSGSC.MAS file installed in the locations folder.

P.S. Use notepad to open and edit scn file and don't forget to save file, do not select save as, just select save.
 
Thanks for your response ClimaxF1, appreciated. Did the changes as suggest however same issue, begins to load but get "Error loading mesh file SRPL_SKY3_DOME1.gmt to memory". It is odd that only I have this issue, as you suggest it possibly could have been caused by my various mods.

Anyway, just tried on my 'AMSbeta version which has no mods and it worked fine. Will have to do some digging around to find out the cause.
 
Managed to get it working. Appears I had a COMMONMAPSGSC.MAS in my ReizaCommon folder some some reason. Deleted that and now all working. Thanks, and great conversion by the way.

I was going to suggest to do a search in your Automobilista file for the commonmapsgsc to locate it and delete so that you could install a new one. Would have achieved the same result.

Happy that it's working, I know from experience with track updates it can be very frustrating when the just won't load and then you still have these annoying pop up messages to confirm you've done something wrong.

Keep it on commonmapsgsc, this way if you want to race into the sunset you won't have problems with the sun.

This will be part of my next update, just also busy with a stunning Bahrain and I have a new Red Bull F1 steering wheel for one of my other mods.

Hi there

Normally if there's a problem with the track then it will crash or not load both in test and race form.

Makes no sense that you can use the track in test but it crashes in race format.

There's almost 2000 downloads and you are the only one having this problem.

If there was a problem with the track then everybody would have the same problem.

Downloaded the track and made a clean install and tried several different cars including F-Ultimate and I have no problems racing.

There nothing I can do from my side because it works just fine and nobody else has reported any problems.

Is it with all cars or just F-Ultimate that the track crashes?

Skies, Lighting & Texture update

Hi Guys

Have being making some skins and converting this mod and personally for me one of the best tracks to test this car is Monaco.

I couldn't help notice that many textures for the fences, handrails, lamp posts and a few others all had broken textures.

Never noticed them before because I did not work on them.

Have replaced all of them with several other updates.

the version 1.3 was allready nice but this update make it totaly new in terms of texture and detailed stuff.
Going to the pit, i saw tv screens in the box, very cool ! :)

When antialiasing is off, trees are ok, when AA is on, trees are transparent.
I don't know why.

But there is a mistake in a DDS file.

Palm leaves alpha channel is not pure white, but light grey.

When it is corrected, the trees are ok with AA.

In this context it would be interesting to know all your graphic settings for automobilista , what kind of graphiccard you use and if you are using tools like nvidia inspector or anything like that for AMD
