Requesting a car if fine (even if its highly unlikely to ever be responded to), and asking for it to be made from scratch rather than converted is a very good thing indeed.

But lets be realistic.

Modders almost never respond to requests. We don't sit around with no idea what to create, just waiting for a good idea. In fact its the very opposite - we already have way too many ideas, and not enough time to actually execute them.

And modding (the free stuff that is), is a hobby - it has to be fun. So we are not gonna do the bidding of others, we make what we want to make, and if others like it its simply a bonus. If they don't, who cares.

So requesting a car or track in my view is a pointless task. Not saying don't do it, just know that 99% of the time it will go ignored.

If you want a piece of content ingame you have 3 realistic options;

1 - Wait until a modder just happens to make something that coincidentally aligns with your preferences (could be waiting a lifetime).
2 - Commission it (don't be surprised when the price is higher than you imagined).
3 - Learn to make it yourself (best option, as you will appreciate how insane these requests suddenly seem).
That's also very true indeed, that's why if no one is going to make even one of them at all, then I'm deciding to opt for the 3rd realistic option you wrote by next year once I will learn 3D modeling and modding completely.

Yeah, I am that crazy. XD

Its well worth it. The satisfaction of creating is far greater than consuming.
Heck yeah, I can already feel the hype when I will recreate one of those cars myself you know? lol

But honestly, I will not completely work on all the car myself, knowing that recreating the interior of a car it's actually more complicated than the exterior, that's why I will only take part on making the exterior and skinning of the car, while other modders like you perhaps will take part on making the interior and other stuff of a car so that we can collaborate altoghether with a lot of effort and the release a car a bit faster. (Hopefully, but not expecting it so easly tho)

you're excluding the physics creation which imo is more important than the model, and it takes just as much time and even more brain to do (.... anti dive calculation...rollcentres...)

Model wise, for a bit of perspective, last sunday I spend one and a half uninterupted hours just straight up modelling. What did I create in that timeframe? A bodykit for a car? A different rim and tire?
No, I made a single set of racing harness with buckles. IIRC the belt itself was below 1000 faces. One and a half hours. With ~4 years of Blender experience.

This thread really is just a trash can, I have never seen anyone fulfill a request. It's of course way different if you have something to offer, like if you have a model but need someone for the hysics, or the other way around (in these cases imo its fine to open a new thread and not use this one)

Well of course I would also hire someone for physics of a car too, since I cannot completely do them myself that's for sure lol.

And are you talking about the interior for a car you made perhaps? Because that sounds like you could be the perfect interior modeler for all of the cars I plan to mod for AC from next year on you know?

you won't be modelling multiple cars next year, period.

You'll maybe make one if at all, I have seen so many young guys like you (god I sound like a grandpa) having the same ambition on this forum and the Kunos one that stopped before they even got a front bumper modelled.
And I won't take over whatever you fabricate. Just start and see for yourself.

It's obvious I won't do multiple cars, I already understand that it takes tons of time and effort to model a single car per time, so of course I wouldn't try to model all cars at the same time, but just one at a time with huge breaks of course. lol

And you're sure that I could do all by myself? we'll see then...

And it's kinda funny to know that even that Kunos guy (Stefano or Marco?) had the same ambition like ours in the beginning before he made that game. XD

If anyone wants to create the TracKing RC01b, that would be fantastic ! It's an hillclimb/slalom car with a Suzuki 1000 GSXR engine, a tubular frame and a DTM style body (BMW, Audi or Mercedes like). 200ch for 450 kg .
I think, it could be a great car in AC to small circuit or hillclimb.

And that sound !!! :inlove:

Always liked the 62 Plymouth Belvedere but the Fury is niice too! Another awesome 60s Cop car!

I have been looking for Garage Sideways' 240SX Kouki for about an hour, same goes for the Parking Lot they drift in with the trucks, if a modder is willing to create these for us, I would REALLY appreciate that! :) (nice drifting physics ofc) I am willing to send pictures as many as you like to get an idea about the livery and car model, and same goes for the parking lot.

Thanks in advance.

IMO, Very Cunning phrasing there mate! ;) Not sure it'll sit well with the community here. But I would be surprised if you did get even 1 offers.

Edit: I'd be shocked :laugh::laugh:

community "here"
any community really
or maybe there is a hidden eden where modders are kindly waiting to execute requests, who knows....

Joke aside.
Gary's post should be pinned somewhere: https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/mod-app-requests-thread.64157/page-65#post-2809166
It's all down to how the request is made.

If someone chimed in like "Hey, I got this old shitty kit car sitting in my garage, I can't model **** but can take 1000x photos and measure the suspension" etc, someone may very well hop onto the opportunity.

But all that "Hey make me these five please heres aphoto each and id be eternally grateful thanks gotta go" will never result in anything

What boggles my mind is the plethera of great car mods already out there Almost 200 cars on RD alone and many other good car mods (some very good) via alternative sites. Sure I'd love a scratch made early 70s Porsche 911. There are several really great mods out there, not scratch built mind you although the physics seem well done and close enough in my book.

We have everything from the NFS cars by AD3R to the Caterhams by Ben O'Bro to the 70s Performance Mustangs by Joshua Widder (who seems to be just getting warmed up) to the Ford Transit Van by GaryJPaterson and the Porsche 356 by Ensyuya and many others.

Find a car you like, drive it, learn its ins and outs and enjoy it.
