@RacingUGA

... what is the purpose of you posting your endless lists in this thread, are just scavenging the net all day for cool looking cars you need to share with the world? No one will ever make one of those cars you posted, especially not because you post like 23242 a day...

better join /r/carporn/ and post there, and no, don't come back with 3535822727191781 new "mod requests" tomorrow.

I bet you would not be willing to pay, if you knew the true cost of making a 10km track :whistling:
Your looking at anywhere from $10,000 to $100,000 for the 10k track!
so the track mods that we se here like the transfegaresen, (more than 20km), lake louise, isle of man , are all worth more than 10k? I know it cost a lot to make a track at game developer quality, didnt know mods could also be so expensive (transfegaresen is actualy very good quality in my opnion). Anyway thanks for replying the thread.

"worth" and "cost" are separate entities, don't forget.

A track can take months for one person to build to an solid quality level. Break that down, and it's a lot of hours spent. I've had freelance contracts worth $20K that take less time than that. When commissioning a service you have to remember that you're not paying for the end product. You're paying for the time of the contractor.

Yeah, that was the point I was trying to make. If you add up the total hours needed to make a track to a decent standard, you would either have to sell if for £15000 (its true cost), or work for about £1 per hour (if you sold it for what would be considered a reasonable value).

And that is why I make tracks for fun :whistling:

I had a job as sort of a freelancer in my free time and he said he would pay me and as we talked about the price on which I had no idea what to take so I could not believe my eyes what he was offering me, especially for my age, considering I would have made the same thing for free here on Racedepartment. You get paid a lot but you have to be good, as when you are being paid you can't just leave it as it is when you don't want to work anymore, you have to deliver. So huge respect to all the guys which do these things for free in their spare time!

I couldn't, in all honesty, put a price on my track. I think it would scare me so much if I had kept a record of how many hours I have spent on it (time I could have been doing paid design work). But then, I'm not a professional track-maker, so probably don't work as efficiently as a pro would.

My plan is just to carry on making tracks that I love, and to make them for me. If anyone else gets any pleasure from tracks that I make, then that's an added bonus :)

I truly had no ideia on the cost involved on making these mods, this make me apreciate much more the community, I will definitly add "learning how to mod" to my to-do list and maybe one day I can help or make on my own a good mod :)

Learn to Skin is probably the best way to start!

Hi all, I've been searching everywhere for the dubai autodrome mod for assetto corsa, I've tried converting the rfactor2 one to ac but it's just not working out. I desperately need it and if anyone is willing to help or convert the track from rfactor2 to ac for me that will be very highly appreciated! Thanks

As many here on RD I have been following, buying and enjoying RSS content.
Especially the GT1 mod (I love GT racing) has been such a big surprise to me that I really wish for more once work has been finished on the mod.

So here is my personal wish for an upcoming mod:

1) 2016 WEC LMP1 LMP2 mod by RSS

I still use some of the old URD EGT and PX mod cars to complete virtual fields of WEC races to race offline but these cars are unfortunately aging and I rarely ever drive them (I just drive a Porsche 919 LMP1 H or a Porsche 911 RSR 2017 against a full field).

I really wish for a LMP field of cars made to the same extraordinary high standards as the RSS GT1 pack - that would be a dream come true (especially as Kunos will be busy with Blancpain for a while before anyone ever has a realistic go at proper multi class WEC racing content).

Maybe even a transition towards ACC might be in the books were we could race proper WEC races in a true endurance setting.

Any chance such a monumental effort could take to the tracks ?
