I did a quick check with the spectators as they filed out of Goodwood, and they had a good time, Hope all our drivers enjoyed it too. Lots of fun, don't care where I came, had a ball.

Nominations galore for Sheeny's
The GT 40 drivers are having their licences revoked lol
Thrills and spills everywhere (did I mention the GT40's)
And the curator thanks you all for the keeping the grass mowed, especially at the tight left hander.
And I beat Patrick twice (well the last one was a bit easy).

Good to see such a turn out for GTL, and I hope we have converted a few of you to a truly classic sim.

Thanks guys. :kissing: :highfive: :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

That was ace.

Race one quallied 3rd, got the lead n settled into a great battle with Scott. As I got some heat in, I started dropping Scott and his Mini. But there wasn't alot in it come race finish.

Race two quallied 14th (I think), was 5th after turn one. The recovering Gt40's started making their way through... I finished 9th, and never really battled at all... lol.

Race three quallied 3rd, got a reasonable start and was alongside Gary going into turn one. Had to back out, to avoid collision, when he came across. I hoped I'd get another chance, better to finish last, than to take out all four cars battling for the lead.
Running 4th and whomever had made it into 3rd, was blocking. I had to brake on the straights a few times. Again, trying to avoid a collision. And then..... My internet went down, it didn't matter how much faster my Pantera was then. lol

Thanks Warren, what a comeback for GTL... Long may it continue.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, well organised and plenty of fun punctuated by a few silly mistakes from me.
R1 Pole - dropped to 21st and fought back to 8th or 9th in the end setting the fastest lap (TC65) along the way
R2 Qualified 5th (a lone TVR amongst the 8 uber-fast GT-40s) and dragged it home 10th I think
R3 Qualified 10th managed to avoid a spinning Capri at the start and get up to 8th but slowly dropped back as I chewed the tyres up but had a lovely (and scary) drift in the penultimate Right hand double apex corner and brought it home 14th.

Thanks Warren and everyone for a great few races. :)

I was on the inside and turned, but he turned a little tighter, and we touched! Sorry for that Günthar, when I saw you I tried to turn tighter, but I couldn't:(

If my router didn't poo itself 1 minute after we went off, I might have been pissed off, but I have been without internet (except on my cell phone) till 10 minutes ago :pissed-off: It was a racing incident, and it happens, you stopped and waited (Thanx), so all good ...

i believe it's time to quote murray walker: faaaaaaaaaaaaantastic!

great great event - cheers warren.... joy all the way thru - no ideas about the details.. but was just grin factor stuff... total gtl convert here, chomping for more :D

Finally!!!!! My internet held up long enough for me to complete an event. I didn't see any significant lagging, hope I was ok tonight.

[snip snip]

Thanks to Gunthar for organising this event, I hope we can get more Trial members to join us in the future, as it was a great opportunity for us to do some coaching. Olly, we should try to use Teamspeak next time for the coaching. My typing was terrible, and slow.

Was no problem to get this up and running, and really enjoyed it till I lost my router...

Good to hear your internet was up to par Warren...

I hope to get more trial members on-board for the next one...

yes Andy m8, i didnt get many points but had great fun entertaining you lot

i cant beleve i went off at T1 in the Honda, although i hate using the cockpit cam in the Accord, its no were near as bad at the Grummpy.

and could someone upload the replays pls, i didnt have mine switched on DOH.
i may even have a go at a vid :quiet:

The Best Race evening of the YEAR since I started online racing GTL,
I was laughing out loud on the things happening a round me(my wife came looking whats happening)the marshals have there hands full to make
Goodwood back to the original state after we have plough the surroundings.

Thanks Warren to set this up and thanks to all the Gents that made it a evening to remember,

I am wondering if somebody can make a nice movie of the replay's?

Hans

I have posted the replays from the server, for anyone wanting them.

http://forum.racedepartment.com/gt-legends/10657-goodwood-revival-replays.html

I highly recommend that some people watch these replays. I know this was a fun festival atmosphere, but the Racing Club rules still applied. There are shocking examples of drivers ramming others off track and not waiting. Review the replays and see how you went in this regard.

A trio of tremendous races using some new cars to me in GTL,really enjoyed in the thick of the battles midpack race one in the Abarth, the GT40 was my favourite of the night,a real sensation of speed.
Tonight made me realise how much ive missed GTL since the end of Andys superb league, maybe time to bring some of those good times back again guys.

Cheers Warren and RD

The most fun I've had in a while! I didn't bother putting any effort into qualifying because I felt like coming from behind a little, worked a treat!

Race 1
Took the Mini and jumped from 5th on the grid to 2nd by the end of lap one, right behind Eck's Mustang. I was insanely quicker in the corners, had to stop myself running into the back of him a few times, but there was never any room to pass and he was just gone on the straights. Everyone behind disapeared and Eck was slightly quicker overall so I couldn't catch him, fun chase anyway!

Race 2
Took the E-Type (never driven it before) and set a poor qual lap to line up 13th. All hell broke loose and coming out of T1 I found myself 4th!!! Managed to pass Andy's GT40 for 3rd later when he went off. Got passed by a TVR and Andy during the next few laps, then the TVR went off and me and Andy battled for 3rd. He was much slower than me in the final chicane so I knew I had to make my move there, got everything out of the E-Type I could and went around his outside on the way into the chicane, bumping passed him on the left apex and was clear in 3rd accelerating towards the flag, but I couldn't outdrag the GT40 so Andy nicked it from me on the line :wink2:

Race 3
Took the slower CSL, again qualified rubbish (15th I think?) and worked forward. Unfortunately I had my only spin of the evening trying not to run over a 906 in the tight left, would have finished 4th without it, but the laptimes indicate I deserved the 6th I ended up with. There were some good fights with Escorts (going 3 wide with Warren and a recovering lapped Porsche between us Hakinen-Zonta-Schumacher style was the highlight for sure!) so I enjoyed the last race of the day despite my mediocre driving.

Epic event, thanks for organising RD and Warren, lets have some more! :D
