I actually liked these cars. Sure, quite the beasts, but a nice breath of fresh air :)

Credit where credit's due: I used an almost unchanged setup by Yves Larose who, as fortune had it, has published setups for all four of these cars, for this track.

Gave every car a few laps in single player training and settled on the Charger. The Cam was pretty nice, as well, but given we do race them in Gen5 events, I wanted something new :)

I quickly got to 2:23-ish times and managed to find a few more seconds and tenths throughout the practice sessions putting me into pole after qualifying. Then, race time approached and I started.. lousy. Average actual start, missed T2, went back into P4.
However, I quickly regained P3 from Arunas which might have been crucial as he had drastically improved in the warmup session
Passed Dennis a while later and went to hunt Daniel - finally passed him in L4 and claimed P1.
Unsurprisingly, Arunas was at 4 seconds behind me at some time, however, he had some small offs, I could relax a bit and managed to make it to the finish line :)

Thanks for racing everyone, I'd definitely like to race these cars once more some time.

Welp, getting back into the Retros sure was a change after the muscle cars - though I kinda got back to the sub-1:13.5 pace, I gotta withdraw that .289 as I crossed track limits in that lap, so please don't include that one ;)

(Gonna be back tomorrow for a <1:13 anyway :p)

I guess I'll have to make this one up to a few of you but all events can't be super. If more were on track it might have been different so a "Thank You" to those that did come out to try these cars.

I had a driveable car but I wasn't anything special in it. I just tried to keep it on the road and mostly did that. Bjorn took off with Daniel and Arunas had picked up his pace since quaili so I tried to stay up on Gundars. An ff for me, an off for Gundars and that's the way it was until the bugs came to take over his home. Lonely for a while until Daniel started slipping all over the track and Arunas started drifting, I guess he was wanting to get behind me and then make a come back but he slipped too much during his chase.

Don't worry guys, I like good driving cars too but we have a pretty vast garage of also ran's to put through their paces.

@Dennis Phelan

Don't worry Dennis. I understand you try to pick something different sometimes to keep the (somewhat) interest up. Now I have tried these cars, and the experience was sadly not positive for me. That's just how things are sometimes. You like it, or you don't :)

Would love to race this rack again with GT Pro cars asap thou!

Hmmmm.. :cautious:
After an intensive thinking I've come to this conclusion - I like these cars, despite I dislake them.
It's because we are here to have some fun and to learn something, so we need all type of cars here to become more professional-sim-strugling-learning-drivers :D
Now I'm waiting for another event with these cars!
Thank You Dennis for bringing some mind games :D

So...

I had better pace than last week, but a few silly mistakes (including one where I was so nearly collected by Alex, above) put me back. Eventually dropped it at the Carousel and broke the rear suspension shortly after my pit stop, and being well over 30 seconds off the others by that point I decided there wasn't much sense continuing. Next week though, next week.

(Gonna be back tomorrow for a <1:13 anyway :p)

Having said that high-spirited, 'twas time to deliver ;)

Best used to the Corvette, I chose it to tackle Peter's BMW time - after numerous laps, it finally worked out (and barely so). Unfortunately, Peter was around to react immediately - with a slight improval first, I still kept on trying as I knew there were another 2 tenths in the car, but then Peter destroyed all hopes with a brilliant lap :) Good fun, nontheless, and maybe I can still claim the Vette's top spot ;)

Checking the calendar, next week's evenings seem to be pretty vacant this far and I haven't made a full week of events for quite a while, so lets try ;)

This one might be slightly difficult to make as we're hosting an event at work which may turn out to last longer than anticipated, but count me in as a still-quite-likely maybe :)
