Nice setup mate, did 1:23:809 on 1st lap, could get a bit lower after couple laps for sure. Only changed 7th gear 2 clicks higher. Pretty nice though, thank you. :)

Very very good setup Tom, just got 1:24 in quali:D. And the car is very stable in corners on races too and the tire wear is also very good , good job!

This is my first setup and my first pole position in my career !

Great setup, just changed Gear 6 to 278 kph and Gear 7 to 318 and its perfect for RBR at Career 25% Legend, PS3 with a Dualshock. Got these times:
P3: 1:27.000 using primes (I had noticed that I lost around .8 at S1 and .2 at S3);
Q1: 1:25.903 using primes (I think it was allmost the best lap I could do with primes, maybe I can improve .2~.3);
Q2: 1:25.407 using option (lost .6 at S3);
Q3: 1:25.158 using option

Have to admit I'm not that good a driver but I can get a better lap out of the Caterham using the default setup one click to the right on quick setup than I can by using the setups posted so far... My bad driving apart, I'm using the stick part of the X52 system to steer and full assists on (told you I was poor!) apart from the braking which I do.

Any help please??!

I'm gonna drive every setup posted here... So it's gonna take me a month or two, probably. Wish me good luck.

EDIT: MEEEEEEH I've just tested 27 setups (more than 135 laps made, 5 per setup) and I still got other 23 to go. OMFG, this is gonna take me at least 2 or 3 days more.

After almost a week and more than 245 laps, I finally made it.

I've made 5 laps of each setup posted here and wrote my results driving a McLaren in Time Trial. I use the X360 pad and all assists on. All laps were done without using DRS and KERS.

**I tried mouta21 setup using Front Wing Angle on 3, Front Anti-Roll Bar: 3, Rear Anti-Roll Bar: 8, Front Spring Stiffness: 9, Rear Spring Stiffness: 1, I drove with the other values too and got a slower time of 1:27.039.

***I took the gearbox from the Sauber.

****I used the “gearbox classification” values for mouta21 second setup.

Ben Eastman, I did not test your setup as the Toe Rear alignment is wrong.
James Bannister I did not test your setup as the Rear Anti-Roll Bar value is wrong.

I've done a quick race using Oli Peacock setup with Button, tyre wear is higher than expected, option tyres last 10 laps, while prime 16.

Tom Endres

noticed ur gears for your set up is 99.98% equally as Lewis Pole Lap gear set up on his on board @ Melbourne 2012...i just caught it cuz i wrote it down when watching it :D
Was that in the official TV broadcast? If so, which session? I still have a recording, so I might take a look at it later on. ;)

Hi guys,

I hope you can help me. I've started playing a few days ago. I'm with Toro Rosso, but I don't seem to be able to get lower from 1.38 in Qualifying at Melbourne... I've tried pair of setups, including the one I'm quoting here, but I can't attack corners as fast as I see on these videos without major understeer... For example, turns 11 and 12. If I enter them at around 220-240 km/h as I've seen people doing, the car will always go ahead to the grass...

Although I'm surely no pro, I think I'm a pretty good driver. I have all assists off, except gears and Traction Control. I'm using the Thrustmaster Force Feedback Racing Wheel (the Ferrari one).

Any ideias for what I may be doing wrong? Thanks a lot.

Notes:

This is a race setup, not TT setup.
This lap was set using 2013 DRS regulations, and 2013 tire allocations of Super Softs. Turns out that DRS has a massive effect on lap time and top end speed in this game, coz a high 1:27 is sh*t slow. LOL

I wasn't pushing 100% in this lap, but was still a good one none the less. Could still find another .500 if I really went balls out.

Do you think the problem could just be Wheel Settings? Although it seems fine most of the time, could it be the reason for my understeering when entering corners at high speed? I seem to have to reduce speed a lot more than drivers in these videos above... Should I go and adjust linearity or saturation?

Thanks for the help!

Not sure about the wheel setting.
I tried some setups to compare with my own and I struggle to hit the apex's with some.
Im gonna start posting my setups maybe they will be of some use to someone.

I've solved the problem.
It had nothing to do with the car setup, but in fact with the wheel settings.
For those with the Thrustmaster Ferrari Force Feedback Racing Wheel, it feels right to me with 7% steering saturation and 70% steering linearity.
