Meeting at the Nürburgring

Hi guys,

I just stumbled across the following event:

http://www.adac-eifelrennen.de/

Since it is in German, I will give you the short version.
This is an event of what we drive the simulation of.. a historic race of the GTC/TC from the 60s and 70s on the Nürburgring and if I m not wrong also on the Nordschleife.

here is a video from last year's spectacle

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FpN5p76pbw[/ame]

or more info if you search for "eifelrennen" on youtube.

I thought that since we are all more or less in "love" with these old beauties and we race this series from our homes, why not offer this opportunity to all of you!

I know that somel of you might not have the time or money etc to join me for this week-end in Germany (26-28 th of september),

BUT

I usually leave no stone unturned, because you never know until you have asked and received an answer :laugh2:

This is a teaser for my complete review of the Historic Racing event (Eifelrennen) at the Nürburgring in Germany :) :rainbow:

just checket google pix and Yes, it's the TVR Grantura (but it wasn't racing just there to show, checked the started list)

Do you have any idea about the jag? Looked like an old limosine from the late 80s, but with 2 doors not 4!

It's hard to transfrom this fancy car into a race car in your head ;) but I checked other pix online and it must be the XJ6

Interesting that there were none of the BMW we drove in GT Legends. Lots of older ones and those from "Race 07" but none of the one we took for a ride ;)

However, this event was reeeally great! I had no idea that there would be such a huge difference between seeing these cars on tv and watching them roar by :)
When I saw the first cars go past the stands where we stood, it honestly touched my emotions! All those nice sillhuettes, dipped into these racing colors, and the sounds of their engines ..... just amazing! ..--> I felt like a little kid :D

And the Elans were really fast just as we would supect!

As promised, here are the new pictures for October 2ed :)
I added a couple more cause some of them don't count but tell the story right :chuck:

And soon, we came across the first historic cars ... in this case an original VW Käfer from 1958 :parrot:

Some 10 minutes later, on foot, we entered the race track area and still outside of the track itself discovered lots of interesting cars :silly:

attachment.php

and yes, since this was a historic event, there were old cars as well :D like this beauty right here

At this point, I was frantically looking for the entry to the circuit .... all these wonderful cars, I was afraid to miss something and it didn't take long that we found our way in. While walking, the first of the cars to participate in the event had found its way in as well :embarrassed:

To be continued :monkey:

The unknown car is a Marcos GT. And that Capri looks fabulous!

Any 911 experts here? I think most of them are modified so its hard to tell whats underneath. Like the white one: The front has hints of RSR but not identical to a RSR front so Im guessing its aftermarket.

The first one is a 911 of the early type (901). Could also be a 912, but that is less likely:)
