I'm still baffled why the McLaren boys would be so stupid as to give evidence at the Trulli hearing directly contradicting the radio transmissions? I would assume that most guys being part of an F1 team are at least fairly intelligent?

Maybe they have a second and 'private' radio channel and mistakenly thought their chatter was safe to prying ears? Or something amongst these lines.

Just does not make any sense lying about something that would be so easy to check up on later. Simply too much of a risk to take for a single point as opposed to the possible ramnifications should they be caught out.

Unless McLaren was dead certain that the relevant conversations would never reach the ears of the stewards?
