Information​

Welcome to the RaceDepartment M1 Procar Series! This will be a stint of races over the next four weeks, the idea being to add a little friendly competition to our club racing. These events remain open to drivers of all levels, so please don't be afraid to sign up!

Details of the calendar are as follows:

03/04/21 - Round 1 / 2: Hockenheimring - Grand Prix​

10/04/21 - Round 3 / 4: Watkins Glen - Grand Prix Inner Loop​

17/04/21 - Round 5 / 6: Lausitzring - Grand Prix Course​

24/04/21 - Round 7: Nordschleife - Single 40 minute race​

Before you sign up, please be aware of the following:

1) These events are still open to everyone, regardless of ability or experience.​

2) Our regular club rules are in effect, including the Golden Rule.​

​

3) Crew Chief is mandatory, everyone must use it.​

​

4) Points will be awarded and tracked over the series, but it's just for fun.​

​

5) Drivers may choose which events to race in, as participation in the whole series is not mandatory.​

​

6) Each driver should try to use a unique livery. Please state your car and number when you sign up.​

Note that I'm not 100% sure how the final Nordschleife round is going to work yet. The track is so long that we won't have time for a qualy session.

The plan was to import the results of a qualy or race session from a previous round, but I can't get an answer on exactly how that feature works. For example, if someone who was not in the imported session decides to join the race, do they just start from the back? Or are they prevented from joining at all? If people who were in the imported session decide not to join the race, do we end up with empty grid slots or is everyone moved up to fill the gaps? (I've asked this on the S3 forums but no answer as yet.)

Yes, if you're ready to rock and roll the moment qualy starts, and are good enough with the combo to get to the end before the session ends. (Remember you don't get to finish your lap once time runs out.) That's how it will be if I can't find out how session importing works.

OK, I think it shouldn't be a problem to move that thing around the ring in 10 minutes, I guess it should make a lap in around 8 minutes, maybe 8:30 (didn't test yet), so you have 2 spare minutes. But of course, everyone who goes off track would have no lap - no idea how the game would calculate the places for these. I don't see this as a problem.

On another note, you can count me in. Was seeing the doctor today and the healing of my leg goes very good. Have another appointment on Wednesday, but it shouldn't be a problem. At the worst I'll do some right foot heal and toe breaking

No offence, but we have drivers of all skill levels in our club so I don't just cater for the top guys. Nords is a very long and challenging track so there is no guarantee that everyone will be able to get a lap in within the 10 minutes. This is especially true given how easy it is to make a major mistake on the narrow road and high curbs.

So if I can confirm how the import feature works then that's what I'll use, because that way everyone get's a known position on the grid which roughly reflects their usual pace. Also, it will serve as a good trial for future use of the feature, which I have some ideas for.

Lausitzring is the one I don't know if 10 minutes will be enough for me to get a valid qualifying lap.
