I used 4th into Paddock, 2nd at druids and third into Graham Hill and Clearways. I couldn't find my H-Shifter plate for my TM TH8 RS but I was Sequential shifting with manual throttle blips when down shifting so not to lock the rears.

True, I was getting a bit closer to you, but I think my car had already gave all it could.

I used 3rd into Paddock, 1st on druids, 2nd into Graham Hill and Clearways. Was up to 4th on the front straight. I did not setup the car to use 5th gear so my gearing was longer, also trying to avoid to be to slow when gliding the car on the turns (mid corner). The engine has a good range of torque and I found doing more shiftings resulted in slower lap times.

Yes another couple of laps and I was in trouble, my tyres were toast too.
I actually regretted using the 5 gears as like you said the torque was good and time spent shifting was time wasted. And over 45 laps that's a lot more shifts.
