Lovely, this track, and most suiting, this non-updated version! And aren't these cars wonderful! They all look awesome, sound great, and are a breeze to drive! All ingredients were there for a wonderful race night.

Oh no wait, they're not. Driving those is rather... challenging. And while usually I don't fear a challenge, some of you guys may know that I'm a sore loser. And losing I did yesterday. Horrible, is still a flattering word to describe my performance yesterday. Ended up last in both races, and no valid excuse as I was not at all the only one without practice.

1st race in the Aston I had to give everything I had to keep the car on the black stuff, trying not to be distracted by the two Gymkhana-boys on my tail running circles around me. (Yes you know who you are:D) and my weapon of choice for R2, the Jag, felt a lot better managable during Practice 2, but all that seemed to have vanished as the race started. I spun her and spun her and spun her and went off track some more, to the point where I apparently missed some gates thus not counting my lap. So without big accidents, suddenly I was 2 laps down everyone else ??!!?!
Then a final accident got me a flat front tire, so while limping to the pits I was passed by the podium runners on their final lap. So finished last at -3 laps but well at least I finished; I do hate quitting even more than I do losing

Grats to Alberto for a remarkable performance, and to all others who somehow managed to keep these cars on track, or who are man enough to NOT go and whine about it.:roflmao:

I was today at the Louwman Museum in the Hague for the special exhibition a bout the Mercedes Silver Arrows from 1934-1939.

Bud wat I all so found was this:
The Jaguar D-Type-XKD606-Le Mans winner of 1957,team EcurieEcosse,
drivers,Flochart /Bueb nine laps a had on the second Jaguar D-Type from Lawrence an
Sanderson,P3-P4-P6 the remaining of the 5 D-Type's all in private teams, the winning car drove 4397 Km 183 Km average a record standing for the next 4 years !
Of course I made some pictures (even touch the car don't tell it further please;) )
OK here they come, Enjoy !

Hague !

How to go from p1 to p8 in 12 laps,
First of all this are great races an great cars not that easy bud when you hit a corner just right it gives a very good feeling (hard to describe) blasting through T1 an holding the car is just:roflmao:!
Race 1 with the Ferrari, the car where I had the most problems with bud after some testing with Rupe it was feeling better at least holding the car strait at speed cornering was good.
Quli time, at they and I was on p2! dropped all most of my chair OMG an now?

Had a great start an on p1 in the first corner, this I could hold for the next 5 laps at that time Carlos was prety close on me an starting to make small mistakes ,make it easy for Carlos to pass:cry: after that its going worse an more worse, coming out of the last corner starting the last lap the car sudden running out of my hands an hitting something an after that the car refuse to go right so I limped to the fin line on p8. Don't Think that I not enjoy it, it was just Great!!:D

R2, The Aston, the car that I had the most feeling with, bud in the race there was not much feeling left, could not keep up with the pack (after starting on p9) an the rest of the race was still on the tail so fin p8? I think, it sound a bit down bud that is not the case,I have had a Fun time with the car,so next time better than first the Aston then then Ferrari :)
Thanks big time Knut , for organising these race events (an the setups!)
Grats To Alberto (Ascari ) great driving! an all who where there to race with !!

I spun her and spun her and spun her and went off track some more,

Hang on, was this a GTL Race or a Rock n Roll Dance exhibition? :whistling:

Really sorry I was not able to join these, sounds like a ball and I loved the Jaaaaag Event we had a while ago.
I'm with Eck, sitting in a corner and hoping we see these cars again, I'd love to try out the other LM55 beasts.

EDIT: But wait until I get home again next week.

Well after allot of practice in trying to emulate Knut's video, I was getting the hang of it with the dunlops. But I also was able to do nice laps with the vintage tyres and they were also a bit quick, The vintage tyres were less forgiving than the dunlops but i could keep it in line and only just enjoy the scenery as it passed by.. So i decided to go with the dunlops and Knuts set up and drift through the corners.
I started from the rear and the plan was to follow knut round or that was the plan..
As the race started i took it easy not pushing at all keeping an eye on the master and slowly getting closer to the guys in front... I was having such a blast following Roland and Knut :D
letting the tail of the ferrari wag as we went through the corners..we were passing each other and drifting a bit ..

but as always i get a bit carried away and ended up spinning and then trying to play catch up made another mistake but it was great fun all the same...
by the time id finished the front had a bit dint in it and my wheel was a 45 deg...

Race 2 i was in my Aston... i did the same again start from the rear and it was looking good as i made up places early in the first lap I was just lining up the car in front for a pass when we were both tagged from behind by a late breaking ferrari which sent our cars spinning and a few more had to take avoiding action...:(
We all got going again but once again my wheel was at a funny position so i spent the rest of the race fighting a car that did not turn well to the left.. but i still managed to make up some places and get fastest lap as cars went off in front off me .. i think they was about a 12 second gap at one point ... it was a funny race never knowing what youd meed round the next bend..
I was still lapping fast and drifting it was great fun and cant wait to drive these beast again

Congrats to the podium guys
and well done Alberto, and welcome to the GTL club... and hope to see you racing soon again..
Thanks to knut for some great setups and for organising such great event...
iv'e a hard act to follow..
And don't worry guys I love these cars so every now and again ill try and fit them into the schedule.. but from what ive seen so far there looks to be lots of great stuff on the horizon

Hans Sneep I must give you a warning for posting pornographic images .... Got any more mate:p
