WIP Lake Superior

Yeah I have problems with creating low poly/detail models. I come from more of an art background not game design and I keep forgetting these things have to be rendered in real time! :confused: I do speed test everything on a regular bases though and so far still getting from 70-250 fps.
 
Here is a new video of build version 0.8. I'll post a few screenshots and maybe a video of the short layout tomorrow (3 am as I write this... zzZZ :sleep: )

Hi Ken. Thanks! I haven't tackled the fog version yet. I sill have a little bit of work to do (LOD settings an putting in crowds etc.) I'll probably try the fog settings after I'm completely finished. Are the numbers you change for the fog in the GDB file? I haven't looked at the settings in your tracks yet. I'm also assuming I need make a foggy or just grey or white sky texture?

Version 0.95
I have built the replay cameras, a few new textures, and a little bit more detail around the track. This video is from the "Lake Superior 24 Hour" version with all the tents, crowds and tree lights that are not lit up in this video because its daytime. The normal version wont have all that extra scenery, and therefore, higher frame rates. (hopefully)

Here are 3 layouts/versions of Lake Superior Raceway version 0.95: the Long layout, the 24 hour version which is the same as the long version with a few more bits of scenery, and the short layout. Sorry they are not MAS'd. The MAS utility doesn't want to work for me :( Also, the collision walls are not very tall so you might fly over them if you get in a crazy enough crash. I'll make them taller when I export them for version 1.00. I also have not finished the menu and loading screens for them. I am working on the Foggy version right now.

This is my first attempt at track building so they are not very efficient. If you have an older computer, (like mine) you probably wont be able to use them without lowering some settings. I made them higher detail for the day when I build my new PC.


NOTICE: I have uploaded version 1.00 in the new track section. If you have downloaded version 0.95, please delete it before you install 1.00.
