Karlskoga Motorstadion (Gelleråsen ) Coming to RaceRoom Racing Experience

AT LONG LAST! Sector3 Studios have today revealed something rather special indeed - previews from an upcoming track release for RaceRoom Racing Experience - Karlskoga Motorstadion (better known as Gellerasen).

Gellerasen is a wonderful and challenging race track that is home to the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. The circuit is also the oldest permanent race track in Sweden, the same country as the Sector 3 Studios development team. Many race sim fans will be very familiar with this circuit from the STCC and STCC 2 games by SimBin Studios, the official video game of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.

Desire for a new STCC game has been rather strong amongst RaceRoom Racing Experience fans for a long time now and many will no doubt be very hopeful that this preview marks the first in a series of Swedish tracks to come for the sim (or hopefully a precursor to a new STCC pack???). For those of you who are maybe less familiar with the Swedish racing scene, many tracks located in the region can be considered reminiscent of the British racing calendar, with often short and twisting technical locations mixed in with 'old school' high speed / high risk tracks that inspire images of race tracks before the safety police took over and sanitised many icon locations.

What's more, the studio have confirmed release is scheduled for 'fairly soon' and further track announcements are in the pipeline to be revealed in the near future. Exciting times ahead...

RaceRoom Racing Experience is a free to play racing simulation by Sector3 Studios for Windows PC. The base game can be downloaded and played for free, with limited content. Additional content such as the DTM and WTCC packs can be purchased separately via the in game store.

Hopefully the start of all the STCC tracks and perhaps even series coming. I know a lot of the community has been asking for TCR cars lately, that would be a good start that give them a TCR series like the ADAC GT Masters for the GT3s.

nice, we used to run one of the rd touring car championships on the swedish tracks offered in stcc2 if i remember correctly. superbly suited for touring car racing, twisty, technical, the lot.

Probably my favorite thing besides the sound about R3E. They may not be laserscanned (besides Nordschleife of course) but they nail the ambiance in a way that the other sims don't quite have. Stuff like the announcers talking the local lingo, audience flashing their cameras and waving their flags etc. It may have no impact on the actual simulation, but it sells the experience to me in a way that makes me feel "there" a lot more then their competitions tracks. Oddly enough pCARS came pretty close in terms of ambiance but eh, that title had other problems.

....and where is this totally immersive cockpit-camera ingame? Searching, searching, looking, looking, not found Looks cool and then going ingame driving or watching a replay with cockpit-cams you just have some weired hopping and bouncing shakiness.

Map a cockpit cam movement increase decrease button in your menu option....also you can lock the horizon in your cam files.

Love it! One of my favorite tracks! Have driven there a few times irl . What we need now is all the other swedish tracks and what I especially want is the STCC cars from the late 90s to early 00s

this option just adds more of this wired shakeiness. the world around the cockpit-interior is shaking and the interior looks like its pasted on screen. realisticly (and immersive) would be a like on the video, even with less intensity... the car-interior is shaking, also depending on the speed and the world around is affected by it.

Come on! We NEED Anderstorp, Mantorp, Falkeberg and Ring Knutstorp, Våler, Jyllandsringen! Basically every good Scandinavian track. Wouldn't say no to Finnish tracks either, like the 2018 MotoGP host KymiRing which is being built right now. Or you could just make STCC 3 like @Paul Jeffrey said
