Hi,
I thought that I´d made up my mind and put my old G25 in the cellar, but the more time I keep spending on researching in a new rig, the more indecisive I get...getting a brain meltdown.

My plan is to invest in a 8020 rig with DD and all the needed accesories (seat, rims, pedals, shifter, handbrake etc.) My budget is around 5000 euro (later on I have plans of building a sfx100 setup).

For the wheel I was thinking of an OSW solution, like the Augury 18NM, but then in some forums I read that, IF Fanetic will succeed with theirs Podiums, OSW will probably fade away, but then again, people are not sure of the Fanatic quality...

Regarding the shifter, I want to practise Heel and Toe for my real life racing. Is it possible to H&T with a sequential shifter or must it be an H-shifter? Recomendations? Fanatec, HE, Ailogs?

The rig - DIY, Simlab or JSL - or something else?

Pedals - maybe I was thinking HE Sprint?

The downside of ordering from many different manufactures will be high shipping costs I guess (live i n Sweden). Is there any store that sells almost everything I need?

Compatibility problem - is it foolish to have f.e.an OSW wheel, Fanatic rim, HE pedals, Ailogs Handbrake , Arduino Simbuttonbox etc. Will they ever play together?

I understand that my questions are to many (like there are to many choises in this hobby)

Please help me get in the right direction.

In terms of wheel...I don't know where you've ready that if Fanatec succeed with DD, that OSW will fade away...that simply won't be the case. Not everybody wishes to be locked into an eco-system of products, and OSW goes from strength to strength.

I would highly recommend OSW system.

The rig - Sim-Lab are great as complete kits, if you're thinking SFX-100 then I'd personally go with the P1 rig...or build one DIY to similar spec.

Pedals - HE Sprint seems like a good choice...if you can find them in stock. Very happy with my Ultimates...only thing that could tempt me to change would be a hydraulic set (something like HPP)

Shipping etc - I'm not aware of a one -stop shop...the gear is specialist and many manufacturers indeed only sell direct from their own online stores.

Compatibility - no not foolish at all.....many people mix and match brands of wheel, pedal, shifter etc. etc. without issue.

I've got 2 motion systems (D-box and GS-5 seat), LCD Dash display, handbrake, OSW, HE pedals, 2 webcams, oculus, steering wheel etc. all plugged into the PC over 2 USB hubs, and all works great with no conflicts.

You might struggle with more mainstream games (e.g. Dirt / Project Cars) as they do not always recognise OSW and HE (top end) pedals as the correct type of controller...but any serious sim (iRacing, AC, ACC, RF2 etc) work flawlessly for the most part.

I have an OSW 20nm, simracing coach GT wheel, simlabs p1, HE ultimates.

There’s nothing to do after initial setup. Just start the game.

If i can offer a differing opinion, one advantage of going fanatec is in fact, their ecosystem. You can get a DD2, some cspv3, shifter and handbrake from the same make (saving you shipping) and you will have a more plug and play experience which will likely be cheaper. Plus, with the plethora of ready made rims with really good button boxes attached (really what is making me pause on getting a feelVR is that their rims lack buttons for modern cars), you have a lot of options depending on what you want to race. Also, their quick release is quick. Check their prices and see what you feel like. FeelVR is also worth a look since their pedals look awesome and their wheel is somehow a 12nm torque motor for less than £500... how?

CSPv3 are quite pale comparing to HE Pro I replaced them with.
Same goes to handbrake, HE unit is much more robust comparing to sheet metal wiggly Fanatec handbrake handle.
Shifter, unfortunately it's the only one on the market that offers hybrid solution with H and S in one.
May be HE will release theirs prototype one day as Fanatec is not that great to be honest, already replaced broken sequential spring and at times it just dies and requires full FW flash with follow up recalibration to get back to life.

Most would say 18 - 20nm (depending on your reseller that you buy from, SimRacingBay for instance offer 20 and 30nm solutions) is absolutely fine for sim racing and more than enough to get at least very close to real forces felt in a GT / V8 supercar.

There seem to be a notable difference in the 18nm 20nm for some reason. You might want to do more research. I have a 20nm and it's great.

If you have time, I'd still suggest to wait for Fanatec DD in field feedback, they start shipping in April, I believe.
