Here @simbin1 , we are making huge changes to our social profile. Over the past few years we have been solely dedicated to GTR3’s development and ensuring that it releases with the best simulation racing experience possible. This includes working alongside our other sister studios to incorporate interesting and practical real world applications for GTR3. Ultimately this has led us to focus all our resources internally.

Although we are proud of our huge achievements with GTR3’s development, we haven’t been vocal about them. However, that’s all about to change. In the upcoming weeks we are going to shine a light on our fantastic SimBin family who have dedicated so much time and energy into GTR3.

This also means we are shifting towards a completely transparent social model. Which is why we are excited to announce that as our first steps towards this goal we are launching an official GTR3 Discord!

They just released the GTR3's official Discord

From SimBin Facebook:

"Hey! Sorry we have been quiet for so long and the inconsistent activity on our social channels (when we were more active). At SimBin we are just as anxious to share all our progress on GTR3, as you are to hear it!

This past year we have been directing all our resources and attention internally with the goal of releasing GTR3 in the best state possible. Finally after all this time working on GTR3, we are close to releasing a lot more information. We also have some huge news lined up to share with you soon! However, we do have to ask for you to wait just a little longer, but it will be worth it!

We do have some exciting news to share today!

To prove that we are back for good this time around we are opening our official Discord! Which means we can never lock ourselves away to tinker with GTR3 without you seeing, ever again. The GTR3 Official Discord is the place to ask questions and offer suggestions. There will even be polls and suggestion channels so you could see your ideas contributing to the final release of GTR3! :)

The Discord isn’t just for asking questions either. Joining will also unlock weekly updates about the game, the ability to participate in polls (which will shape the final release of GTR3) and you may even unlock beta access if you’re active enough!
If you have any questions about GTR3 or about SimBin in general please ask away here or for a faster reply ask in our Discord :)

**please click the checkered flag in the rules channel to join!**

We've heard it all before. I really don't see any point whatsoever in announcing that there is an announcement coming but which cannot be announced yet. If they have something worthwhile to say, just say it. If not, just keep quiet and stop trying to rebuild the hype train.

Short of the announcement of an actual release date, I don't think any serious sim-racers are going to trust what is said or care much about it, to be quite honest.

Simbin UK have risen from the ashes that were never actually ashes to start with, reconfirming a game that never was, but with a promise of something that will be, without actually showing anything, but promising something soon. Confused? You should be...

Ok, over dramatizing for the sake of amusement over, let us get serious for a bit now.

Back in the early 2000's, a Swedish development studio created something incredible. Putting in more effort and attention to detail than had been seen up to that point, GTR2 was born - the official racing simulation of the FIA GT World Championship of 2003 and 2004 - arguably one of the finest racing series to grace the world of international GT specification endurance racing.

Flash forward almost two decades and plenty of drama later, the now disbanded Simbin Studios returned with bold statements about the creation of a much anticipated sequel - GTR3.

Confirming the title in an exclusive RaceDepartment interview all the way back in 2018, complete with screenshots of the mighty Spa-Francorchamps circuit in game, the following few years have been something of an up and (mostly) down journey for the now UK based development team.

Initially coming out with strong intentions to create a true sequel to the mighty GTR and GTR2, but with a modern take on the now legendary franchise, little was actually known about the fine details of the simulation at the point of the interview in 2018 - with very little new information coming the way of the gaming public in the following couple of years - actually quite the opposite in fact, thanks to what can only be described as.... a confusing communication strategy.

A fine collection of false moves later, from "announcing" a WEC licence that never was, to attending a games' festival without showing the actual game, many people within the sim racing landscape started to become thoroughly unconvinced if we will ever actually see the third instalment to the GTR franchise... not helped by massive periods of radio silence from the various social media channels of the developers.

Well, in a year when pretty much anything can happen, it appears the metaphorical phoenix from the flames has risen, with not only some new communications from the Simbin Studios UK social media accounts, but also the announcement of a new Discord channel and the promise of plenty more new news to come starting in early 2021.

Is this the start of the final road to release, or another false dawn... only time will tell.

GTR3 - Scheduled for console and PC release in the near future.
