Inexpensive transducers for simvibe

JeffL

Right on Brother, I hear ya, it's all good.
Some of the guys in the club were asking about some affordable transducers for Simvibe.

I have $50 sub and the 4 pack 16 0hm minis ($44) drive in 2 zones by 2 - $20 lepai amps and not even close to using all the power. Actually just the large shaker and one amp would be sufficient but....

The company that makes the transducers is Dayton Audio but the best price is from Parts Express

Have fun.

You will have to experiment, resonance is a hard thing to nail down. Lots of variables.
You can get serious vibration with out over driving them. Mounting is a big part of it. Just get your head in there and work it out. It will take some time. It's a DIY so you have to play around a little.

Hey guys, thinking about starting up a setup. For now I just have an office chair with a wheel stand. Thinking I might go to a full cockpit later this year. I already ordered a buttkicker gamer 2 to start out with (easy to mount to either my chair or the rig I am interested in.)

My next step is adding something to the pedals, and eventually to the rig for a chassis setup. Here is what I'm thinking of ordering:

Two of these for four independent channels:

One of these 4 packs:

Then these adapters to make the power supplies work here in the US:

I'm thinking with my wheel stand I would only use one amp and two shakers on the pedals (left and right). Save the other setup for later if I do a full rig. Then mount the buttkicker to my chair. I would run this all in Simvibe.

Am I good to go and order this or is there something I should change?

Thanks for the help!

I have the same mini pucks and two very similar mini amps, and I am not hearing sound through them, I get vibration, so I am confused. I don't see any wrong way to wire these, I'm sorry I can't suggest anything to help, except to say I don't think you need to try the Logitech amp, the mini amps should do the job.

im using sim commander but i still hear sound i dont know what ive done wrong..ive wired the transducers up in parallel and plugged them into the amp the amp is plugged into speaker high definition audio..jeff if you would like too you can go onto teamviewer if you like and look for yourself ive had enough of this man tried everything.:(

I have a feeling that not only have you assigned sim commander to that sound card it might also be your default sound card in windows. So your sound is coming through there too?

the only way i can get tranducers working is when i go to recording tab and select stereo mix the i choose my speakers i want to listen too tick the box apply...then both of my sound cards work at the same time..now in game i can hear engine sounds coming from the pucks which are also vibrating..im launching game from sim commander 3..does sim commander 3 have crossover built in the software if so where is it maybe that will stop the engine sounds coming from puck?
