i9/GTX2080 and Triple 1440p/1080p performance

Hi everybody,

Just built a PC with i9/GTX2080/SSD/32RAM. After asking around went to buy 3 x 32in 1440p monitors (AOPEN 32HC1QUR). Set them up using NVidia Surround. Unfortunately not getting a smooth performance/fps with 7680x1440:

EDITED: ACC and PC2 were tested at night, rain and about 15-20 AI cars

ACC: Low (92-114fps), Mid (55-70fps), High (39-47fps) and Epic (23-36fps)
PC2: Low (79-93fps), Med (60-80fps), High (35-46fps)
iRacing: Good settings around 150fps but dropping to under 100 when racing against others.

Borrowed 3 x 1080p and run exactly same sims/configs:

ACC: Low (100-134ps), Mid (90-100fps), High 65-70fps) and Epic (49-50fps)
PC2: Low (110-120fps), Med (60-100fps?), High (70-90fps?) I must have mixed up some settings here.
iRacing: Good settings around 180fps but dropping to under 120 when racing against others.

I wonder if anyone with the same/similar setup can comment on their results and configs. I wonder if I am missing anything on how to set the screens up.

Many thanks

Raf

Are you using any sync settings, vSync or Freesync, etc?
Have you set the card's power management for maximum performance?

Do the math, 4k pixels (8294400)vs 3 x 1440p(11059200) pixels! Just running 4k is hard in ACC and 1440p x 3 is substantially more pixels.
Thanks for testing though, I'm going 3 x 1080p(6220800) so I have some headroom.
It's good you tested in a stress test situation, no point testing in a best case situation.

True. I am thinking about returning the 1440p to Amazon and getting the 1080p. If I was to race just iRacing, the 1440p would be great but I really like ACC and at times I enjoy the old tracks available at PC2.

One thing I should mentioned is the size of the monitor. That was my first debate (27 vs 32). Even though I don't have the monitor stand yet to get the proper FOV (i.e. get the 27s really close to me), I almost felt that the games were made to run on the 27...

My monitors are Free-Sync and even though they are not on the select list of monitors officially supported by NVIDIA, I read that they work, so I turned the setting on the card. Turning on or off inside ACC did not made much difference.

Thank you for the tip on power management. Changed to Maximum Performance and it helped a bit.

Thank you!

Also, for ACC, did you see this thread: https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/i-got-my-fps-back.172350/

Your 1080p trial with ACC is about the same as my initial trial with a GTX 1080, which isn't right, so I suspect the power management is the overall answer and then you'll get even better with the "I got my fps back" tip.

This was REALLY HELPFUL! It increased the fps by 10 on each setting. Image quality wise not much difference. Big thanks !!!

On AC I'm getting 105fps average with a Ryzen 7-2700x and GTX1070ti. Settings are between high and ultra, resolution is 5760x1080/144Hz.
