I need help making my Blu-Ray drive playback movies.

I am using a new BD drive that reads, writes, and rewrites, and I just installed it and inserted a BD movie, but neither Windows Media Player or VLC could playback the movie. Do I have to find a media player that supports BD playback or are there any codecs that will add support for it?
