I can't find the gamedata folder

    hi all, this mite sound stupid but ive just got gtr evo that runs through steam,
    when i try to put a mod on i cant seem to find the game data. i found user data and ui data but thats all. i noticed there was a source mod file, is that anything to do with mod instalation? thanks dean

    Thats correct, you need to create that map yourself in the folder like this.

    Code:
    X:\Steam\steamapps\YourSteamName\race 07\GameData
    Once created you can install most mods and tracks in there

    on an unmodded install there is no gamedata folder.... so if your archive doesn't extract and create the folders then you'll need to do it manually yourself....

    the games own gamedata folder is held in the *.gcf files downloaded from steam... you can view the contents of these files (and extract from them) but most of the files are encrypted :wink: and you don't need to worry about it anyways if you're only adding tracks and cars and what not....
