How to switch from Simbin to Altbierbude lobby

Here is some instructions for how to switch lobby in GT Legends. I suggest trying the instructions for Digital version first, as this one has been tested and works both for Digital and DVD version

New digital version of GT Legends
Switch from Simbin to Altbierbude:
  1. Write down your current Username and Password for the Simbin lobby for future reference. If you don't remember it you can find it in Userdata\"Name"\Name.PLR (just search for password in the file)
  2. Move the "LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt" away from the main GTL directory and keep it somewhere safe. Also move backup files of LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt if you have any.
  3. Launch GTL
  4. Go to Multiplayer->Internet and click Register. Select a different Username and Password than your old one. Click the arrow (not login button) to register. If you don't get "Registration Successful" at first, try a few different usernames/passwords.
  5. When you have registered successfully, you will be taken to the login screen. It will still show your old Simbin Username so you first have to replace it with your new Username and Password. If you login successfully you should then log into the Altbierbude lobby.
  6. If it didn't work, try to register with a new username
Switching back to Simbin:
  1. Move the file "LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt" back to the GTL main directory
  2. Launch GTL
  3. Go to Multiplayer->Internet and login with your old Simbin Username and Password
Alternative instructions for DVD version of GT Legends
Switch from Simbin to Altbierbude:
  1. Write down your current Username and Password for the Simbin lobby for future reference. If you don't remember it you can find it in Userdata\"Name"\Name.PLR (just search for password in the file)
  2. Make a backup of "LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt" located in your main GTL directory. If the file doesn't exist, create it.
  3. In the "LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt" delete the old content and write 94.23.231.41
  4. Launch GTL
  5. Go to Multiplayer->Internet and click Register. Select a different Username and Password than your old one. Click the arrow (not login button) to register. If you don't get "Registration Successful" at first, try a few different usernames/passwords.
  6. When you have registered successfully, you will be taken to the login screen. It will still show your old Simbin Username so you first have to replace it with your new Username and Password. If you login successfully you should then log into the Altbierbude lobby.
  7. If it didn't work, try to register with a new username
Switching back to Simbin:
  1. Open the file "LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt" located in the GTL main directory. Delete the old content and write gtlsrv.race-game.com
  2. Launch GTL
  3. Go to Multiplayer->Internet and login with your old Simbin Username and Password

my other suggestion was to put the ip direct into the local_ip_lobby txt file like what we do for altbierbude ..
take out gtlsrv.race-game.com and enter 81.3.59.61
this has worked for some gtl disc users in the past...
Always make a copy before altering anything... Back it up...
I can connect with this way to simbin lobby
if i use any other ip it does not connect... so www.gtlsrv.race-game.com is not good..(sorry Hans for my blunder)

My plr looks like this
Host IP Address=""
Online Server="GTL_SERVER.txt"
Online UserName="Rupe W"
Online Password="XXXXXXX"

L5FJjSI8

i would take Knut's advice and make a ticket at raceroom..

your problem with the command prompt ping test could be a firewall blocking outbound traffic i can get the same by temporarily blocking all traffic in my firewall
what did you use to clean up your pc.. maybe it also cleared all firewall protocols

WOOHOO!! There's a bit of hope glowing at the horizon!!
Just did a fresh GTL DVD install op my notebook. Same result as on my game rig yesterday:
NO problem whatsoever connecting to the Altbierbude lobby, but no chance with the Simbin lobby.

However: replacing the "gtlsrv.race-game.com" text in my LOCAL_IP_LOBBY file with just the above 81.3.something IP address Rupe gave does the trick: I can now get into the Simbin lobby no problem!
I hope the same goes for my gaming rig, gonna test right now.
Thanks a TON Rupe Wilson !

I cannot ping gtlsrv.race-game.com at all, with or without WWW prefix. And I'm positive there's no firewall or other block on my network. I can ping the IP address just fine though.
So Tim Ling
is right, there's some DNS errors going on. Curiously enough, my GTR2 was working fine yesterday, will re-test.

81.200.64.50 is a virginmedia server, isnt that your ISP?
something fishy going on here..

can you Tracert 81.3.59.61 from where you are?

Me and Hans are on now no problem. as are Rupe and Tim :O_o:

Yep, thats pretty much my route, the last three at least are identical.
81.3.59.61 is a german server (Krawall Gaming Network something) and your path adds up.
So its strange that putting this in the lobby file does not connect properly?!?

Nevermind, you're in now...

Hope this sorts itself out within the next 24 22 hours
