How do I change the start position ?

Yesterday I bought Game Stock Car Extreme and it looks great. But I have a question.
When I start a single race without practice and without qualifying I always start at the 1st position.
Under Settings 1 I see an option to change the start position, but whatever I set there I always start at 1st. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong ? Or am I forgetting to change another setting and if so, which ?

It's a bug. You will have to enable a qualify session and either go through the process of qualifying or skip to next session which will start you in last place on the grid.

I think this is a bug in the game.
From memory the best thing to do was run Qualification and select Finish Session so that it would run its course.
Once finished, you should start the race in last position.

Another words, you can either start first or last without doing Quali

if you set up a race with 7 ai and start in 8th, then you start at the back of the grid
