HoF and Discussion (Propose Game Ideas Here)

@F1Anime. Rather than posting about a dream game, why not try to come up with your own rules and develop the game yourself so the rest of us can play it. Also don't double post please.

Thanks. But I don't know how I can do it?
Hi, here are few tips:
1) You mention number of teams for first season (which is probably number of players that you are looking for) and you have said what time span game covers (1980-2022). This is good start.
2) What Jim says about rules is, before we can join we need to know what is expected of us and how can we as managers/drivers can make a difference. For example: give more details as "Player will be a manager of chosen team, it will start with default budget which can be used for car upgrades, driver training, etc. You will get prize money each race based on result, or you will have sponsor and get prize money from it. At the end of the season, contracts are renewed." Something like this, I mean you have imagination, it can be seen in your posts, just use it and create your own rules. Then even before starting when you share them we can help to improve them together.

3) This is more suggestion, as you could see with your Indy xcoronate game. Idea was there, but there was nothing for us players to do (upgrade/strategy) anything that can influence outcome. You could have made 1980 for example as start year and take drivers from that year for us to choose (giving every driver different starting skill). Then give us some budget (in dollars, euros, or some made up currency) and the possibility to increase skill of drivers/engines/cars. Then when new drivers appeared, just add them to the pool of drivers so we can choose them. Hope this helps.

Thanks. But I think @Thang Nguyen would make my dream game.

Your dream game needs to be made by you. Don't bring a tiny idea in and try to force someone else to make "your dream game". It very obviously won't be his dream game. You obviously have this fully developed in your mind, so try to come up with the ruleset and play style yourself.

@F1Anime. Please use this thread to brainstorm ideas as to how this game should be run. I know you've read the rules thread for the Forum, which asks users to plan games in this thread rather than in the actual game one.

Have a look through some other game threads on here to see what kind of ideas have been done before and how you can try to come up with something similar.

Do you have games like GP4 or rFactor which you could use to run a simulated career? Are you good at Excel and therefore could make an excel generated game? How are players supposed to do anything in the game? Do we get to sign drivers and train them up, do we get to be the driver? How do we improve our cars and how do you reward success without making it OP? These are the questions you need to solve.

Also, please don't double post. If you want to say multiple things, please use the edit button to add it to your previous post.

Hi all in 2017 I had an idea of a dream F1 series which starts (or started) in 2018, now it reaches the 2023 season (not started yet). Its name is MyUniversalCareer (MUC for short) and all the seasons will be played on F1 2013 game.
The French Grand Prix was added to the calendar, while the German Grand Prix returned after its absence from the 2017 season. The Malaysian Grand Prix was discontinued.
After an inconsistent 2017 season, Kimi Raikkonen decided to take a sabbatical drive at Ferrari.
The Finn's ex-teammate in Lotus, Romain Grosjean, was signed to replace him.
Mercedes and Red Bull retained their drivers.
Alonso was very unhappy at McLaren (after a very bad season) and joined Renault alongside Hulkenberg. Renault deciced to run a 2006-based livery for Alonso's return. Sainz, who lost his seat at Renault, returned to Toro Rosso alongside Pierre Gasly.
Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon had a very tense season at Force India with so many controversies, which led to Perez's leaving the team to rejoin McLaren. Wehrlein was chosen to fill the vacant seat at Force India.
Kvyat, who had been fired by Toro Rosso in late-2017, replaced Massa's seat at Williams, after the Brazilian retired at the end of the 2017 season.
Haas, with Grosjean gone, signed Charles Leclerc, who is going to make his F1 debut in 2018. Magnussen was retained at the team.
Jaguar decided to rejoin F1 and signed Ericsson and Palmer, who had been under-performing at their respective teams in 2017.
In 2017, Sauber had negotiations with Alfa Romeo but due to some problems, Alfa couldn't be the team's title sponsor, so BMW returned to F1 to sponsor Sauber for 1 year. With both drivers gone, Giovinazzi became the team's main driver, alongside Robert Kubica, who returned to F1 after 8 years.
McLaren and Toro Rosso swapped their respective engine suppliers.
Line-ups:
Mercedes: Hamilton-Bottas
Ferrari: Vettel-Grosjean
Red Bull: Ricciardo-Verstappen
Force India: Wehrlein-Ocon
Williams: Kvyat-Stroll
Renault: Alonso-Hulkenberg
Toro Rosso: Sainz-Gasly
Haas: Magnussen-Leclerc
McLaren: Perez-Vandoorne
Sauber: Kubica-Giovinazzi
Jaguar: Palmer-Ericsson
The Nurburgring circuit re-entered F1 to host the German Grand Prix.
This season witnessed many drivers' transfers:
- Due to Malaysia no longer in F1, Petronas also withdrew from F1. This meant Mercedes would have a new title sponsor: Monster Energy. Hamilton, after losing out the 2018 title to Sebastian Vettel, returned to McLaren. His vacant seat would be filled by Fernando Alonso, who had an inconsistent season and lost his 4th position to Romain Grosjean after the final race in 2018.
- Grosjean decided to go back to Haas after Ferrari announced Vettel and Ricciardo would be their 2019 drivers.
- Red Bull promoted Gasly from Toro Rosso to replace Ricciardo, although the Frenchman only scored 1 point through the previous season with an under-performing Toro Rosso car.
- Jaguar scarcely developed their current car during 2018 as they were focusing on their 2019 one instead. With a car which is projected to be very competitive, they signed Hulkenberg from Renault and Vandoorne from McLaren as the 2019 drivers.
- Renault called back Sainz from Toro Rosso and signed Perez, who lost his seat to Lewis Hamilton in McLaren. The second seat at McLaren would be taken by Kevin Magnussen, after Vandoorne leaving the team to join Jaguar.
- Sauber finally had a multi-year deal with Alfa Romeo and they signed Charles Leclerc and rookie Mick Schumacher.
- Both 2018 Sauber drivers, Giovinazzi and Kubica, would beshifted to Lamborghini. Christian Horner decided to merge Toro Rosso and Red Bull altogether, and Lambo wanted to rejoin F1. Therefore, the Italian manufacturer bought Toro Rosso and renamed as "Lamborghini F1 Team".
- Wehrlein, after a difficult season in Force India, moved to Haas alongside Romain Grosjean.
- Williams had their line-ups unchanged. However, they switched to using BMW engine.
- Lexus became the title sponsor of Force India. With Wehrlein gone, $ergey $irotkin made his F1 debut with the team.
Line-ups:
Ferrari: Vettel-Ricciardo
Mercedes: Alonso-Bottas
Red Bull: Verstappen-Gasly
Renault: Perez-Sainz
McLaren: Hamilton-Magnussen
Force India: Ocon-Sirotkin
Williams: Kvyat-Stroll
Sauber: Leclerc-Schumacher
Lamborghini: Giovinazzi-Kubica
Haas: Grosjean-Wehrlein
Jaguar: Hulkenberg-Vandoorne
The Argentinian Grand Prix returned to the F1 calendar for 22 years, expanding the calendar to 22 races. The Hockenheimring circuit would host the German Grand Prix. The Bahrain Grand Prix was chosen as the first race of the season.
Red Bull switched to the Honda engine as their engine supplier.
- Robert Kubica retired from F1 as an active driver. therefore, Sergio Sette Camara would make his debut with Lamborghini, becoming the first Brazilian driver to compete in F1 for 3 years.
- Magnussen was interested in Formula E and joined that series, making the door open for Lando Norris to make his F1 debut alongside Lewis Hamilton.
- Daniil Kvyat and Sergey Sirotkin swapped their seats.
- The other drivers retained their seats for the 2020 season.
Line-up:
Mercedes: Alonso-Bottas
Ferrari: Vettel-Ricciardo
Red Bull: Verstappen-Gasly
Renault: Perez-Sainz
McLaren: Hamilton-Norris
Jaguar: Hulkenberg-Vandoorne
Haas: Grosjean-Wehrlein
Williams: Stroll-Sirotkin
Force India: Kvyat-Ocon
Lamborghini: Giovinazzi-Sette Camara
Sauber: Leclerc-Schumacher
The German Grand Prix was not included in the calendar.
Lexus bought out Force India to become "Lexus F1 Team".
- Bottas, Hulkenberg and Wehrlein made a circle seat-swapping: Bottas left Mercedes to join Jaguar, Hulkenberg left Jaguar to join Haas, Wehrlein left Haas to join Mercedes.
- Verstappen made a shocking move to Williams, replacing $irotkin. Sainz left Renault to replace Verstappen's Red Bull seat, re-partnering Gasly and Jack Aitken would make his F1 debut at Renault.
- The other drivers had their seats retained.
Line-up:
Mercedes: Alonso-Bottas
Ferrari: Vettel-Ricciardo
Renault: Perez-Aitken
McLaren: Hamilton-Norris
Red Bull: Sainz-Gasly
Williams: Verstappen-Stroll
Jaguar: Bottas-Vandoorne
Lexus: Kvyat-Ocon
Haas: Grosjean-Hulkenberg
Sauber: Leclerc-Schumacher
Lamborghini: Giovinazzi-Sette Camara
The Vietnamese Grand Prix joined the calendar and the German Grand Prix returned, making the season have 23 races.
There were several changes in the teams:
- Lewis Hamilton and Romain Grosjean retired from F1. Sette Camare left F1 to join Formula E.
- Audi bought out Lamborghini after the latter's lack of success in F1.
- Both Vettel and Ricciardo left Ferrari to join Audi and McLaren respectively. Mick Schumacher joined Audi to become Vettel's teammate.
- Lexus became the Mercedes-B team, making Kvyat to leave the team. Kvyat replaced Grosjean in Haas while the vacant Lexus seat would be taken by rookie George Russell.
- Ferrari signed Leclerc and Giovinazzi as their 2022 drivers. Alfa Romeo fully bought Sauber to rename "Alfa Romeo Racing" and signed Antonio Fuoco and Guanyu Zhou.
- The rest of the drivers had their seats retained.
Mid season transfers: (before Round 14- Belgium Grand Prix)
- Alonso was very frustrated at Mercedes after a series of reliability issues so he left Mercedes and rejoined McLaren.
- Ricciardo had already wanted to join Renault but his move to McLaren was reluctant. As Aitken underperformed, the Brit was demoted to the team's test driver and Ricciardo finally had a chance to race with Renault.
- But there was still a vacant seat at Mercedes. Hamilton was called back to drive for the team for the rest of the season.
Line-up: (the names in brackets are the changed drivers in the mid-season transfer)
Mercedes: Alonso (Hamilton)-Wehrlein
Jaguar: Bottas-Vandoorne
Red Bull: Sainz-Gasly
Ferrari: Leclerc-Giovinazzi
McLaren: Ricciardo (Alonso)-Norris
Lexus: Ocon-Russell
Renault: Perez-Aitken (Ricciardo)
Williams: Verstappen-Stroll
Haas: Hulkenberg-Kvyat
Audi: Vettel-Schumacher
Alfa Romeo: Fuoco-Zhou
Monster Energy terminated their partnership with Mercedes. Also, HSBC parted ways with Jaguar.
The name event of the French Grand Prix would be "Anthoine Hubert Grand Prix de France", to pay tribute to the late French driver.
Drivers transfers (sketched):
- Ocon was promoted to Mercedes to re-partner Wehrlein.
- Mick Schumacher was released by Audi and joined Lexus.
- Hamilton left Mercedes to join Audi.
- Stroll became Williams' test driver because Alonso signed a shocking contract to the team from McLaren.
- Sainz had a very disappointing season with Red Bull and left the team to join McLaren alongside Lando Norris.
- Dan Ticktum was due to make his F1 debut for Red Bull, alongside Pierre Gasly. But for some reason he was kicked out of the Red Bull Junior Programme, so that seat would still be vacant.
- Kvyat left Haas to become Jaguar's test driver.
- Zhou left Alfa Romeo to become Renaulr's test driver. Alfa are yet to announce the replacement driver.
- Haas are rumored to sign a Ferrari Academy driver.

Still...how is this a GAME? What do we do as players? Appears you will be simulating the races with F1 2013? Explain our role in this.
For each season, I'll totally mod everything from the tracks sponsors, suits for drivers & crews, car skins to drivers' helmets, the car files, the database file, etc. to make it a totally different experience for the game.

And what are we (players) supposed to do in the game? As it looks like drivers are fixed to the teams, and team performance is based on your story. So, what is our influence?

@Thang Nguyen

Please try to find a more suitable place to share and have your fantasy F1 stories or such things. This Forum Games section is for people who design/moderate/play FORUM games.

And no one should ever open threads before they have a solid game system and they are fairly sure that they have time to be committed to moderate the game.

Thanks!
