This weekend it's time for the first round of the Historic Porsche Cup, the season kick off at Sebring International Raceway in Florida USA.
After a successful pre-season test race at Motorland Aragon who saw Jernej Simoncic take the pole and the win for the first race and Ghilherme Silva take the pole and the win in race two. Both races were exciting with battles for the lead and all around the field with few incidents which is giving us a good indication that the season will be exciting and close.
The season includes a total of six rounds using a double race formats most of the rounds use a sprint format of two races of approximately 30 minutes each proceeded by a 15 minutes qualification. Two races in the championship use the enduro format of approximately 60 minutes with a qualification of 30 minutes and there will be a mandatory pitstop to spice things up.
The enduro races are held on iconic race tracks such as Spa-Francorchamps and Mount Panorama as for the sprint races they are held at Sebring International Raceway, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Hockenheimring and Leipzig Porsche test track, each tracks offer its own challenge and should provide some exciting and close racing.
