Help. Grapbics card wont work?

I have a pavilion 500-314 desktop and just purchased a 750 to graphics card. I switched the pay to 550 watt bronze 80 and currently run a R7 240 "dual graphics" set up and can't get the new card to work? Any ideas why. It's an orchids motherboard, and I can't find any compatibility issues with it. Removed all AMD drivers and then put the card in. All I get is a screen saying press ESC key to enter start menu and no key does anything.
