Plus,
- increased resistance to damages to prevent AI to pit in for small aero damages
- increased driver seat position range (use LEFT or RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON then drag mouse to adjust view)
- removed bump maps from Morgan/ViperCC/350Z cockpits because of cartoon/plastic effect
- removed spa invisible wall in pits
- updated Enna tyres stack with moving ones
- updated 996CUP #123/124 ugly safety net with nicer one from ViperCC
- updated 996 RS with 3 styles : Motec+H gearbox / Motec+Seq gearbox / Stack+H gearbox
- updated all MoTeC/Pi/Stack fonts, display and cube maps, added red zone to Stack and added rev limit to MoTeC
- added 996 GT3 R versions
- added missing brakes/tyres temperatures motec line : now available in ALL cars (cycles show lap time, oil/water/tyres/brakes temperatures)
- added specific Ferrari/Porsche brakes
- added missing #109 Porsche GT3 CUP from 24h Spa 2003 event
- added laptimer to all cars with flags/pit icons
- added missing safety net in #108 C5R cockpit
- added wipers and dirt/rain effects on side windows
- fixed many black polygons on some cars
and many more (as CocaCola I will not give my detailed recipe because of people copying my work but you must know that there are more than 300 patches) during 7 long years of work on this project...

Just to show the amount of work I have made only for these new wipers v16 : templates represent 3,68 Go to create 1Go of final DDS so what you see in HQ Anniversary Patch as final product is only the small visible part of the iceberg :)
Most of my textures are made of multiple layers : a single dds is the result of the addition of several images. By example :
- main rain animation layer represents several months of work with a mix of 3 layers : reworked simbin raindrops + AL fx raindrops + my own raindrops
- wiper alone is a layer with a light blur movement effect
- when wiper is on you will see 2 different tones rain intensity as the part wiped is lighter : this is another layer with more transparency
- the wipe effect is another layer rendered with a blur rotation effect but to do that I had to manually select the zone with tons of mouse clicks
- dual wipers are made of 2 single wipers so twice as work and it is a bit more complex as sometimes the left part wipes a part of the right so I had to delete the good part : I mean it depends on the way of the movement, sometimes it is left to erase but sometimes it is right so I had to stay focus on what I did to avoid illogical wipe movement
- these layers are superposed so order is important (wiper is outside the window so on bottom of the list, then I had to set the good position for each layer to keep a logical movement of course) and I had to add blur between some layers to smooth things to avoid that your eyes detect the differences between layers
- and of course each dds is a result of a different movement so this process cannot be automated but only by hand (well mouse) image by image 1 after 1.

All in all this is really huge amount of work :confused:

just finished to update all wipers gmt hq2003-2005+butch cars+png3 cars. My pc is not really able to maintain 26fps at 2048x2048 with more than 20 cars so there will be 2 sets of wiper resolution selectable via GTR2_SETUP.CMD : 1024x1024 for old pc like mine and 2048x2048 for modern video cards.
Below are 2 screenshots comparison between both resolutions.

Hello there, i have recently find this awesome patch and crewchief mod, i am really happy to unite again with my old love PnG and this time with VR! I never tought this would be possible so thank you very much guys to make this happen. Runs really sweet with my system, everyting maxed out and steam ss at 450%. Also super happy to find out that physics in PnG are still top notch and doesen't feel dated even compred to latest sims, they did superb work with this mod back then.

I have one small problem with it however; i installed patch & mods as per cw manual says and everything else works perfectly, but when i choose "updated physics & wipers" from setup.exe, i got no visible wipers from cockpit at clear weather. If i choose rainy weather, wipers are there and works automatically put i can't switch them off. I play PnG cars only. What i have done wrong?

Edit, found the "problem", had forgot to setup the next step in setup.exe

By the way, when playing PnG cars only, what exactly updated physics means? Does it alter the performance of cars or anything like that?

Updated physics are simply physics updated by me to suit my own taste (you will find more GT Legends alike) and it fixes also the bad AI behavior from original PnG mod. Anyway you can switch png physics via setup easily so you can try both and revert to originals when you want :)

Today I have finished the dynamic clouds after 3 months of work, there will be options via GTR2_SETUP to enable 1 layer, 2 layers or disabled for all hq 2003-2005 tracks. I have also reworked 4k skies by increasing colors and hdr effect : combination with Peter Boese wonderful clouds is just outstanding, after 7 long years of work on GTR2 HQ Anniversary Patch, for its 16 years anniversary GTR2 has never been so gorgeous, be prepared for the visual shock on September 10 2022 :)

How to add GTR233 Dynamic Clouds to any track

It works for most tracks but some rare tracks will not work or will show low fps.
You just need HQ Anniversary patch v16 installed and to activate my 4k skies via GTR2_SETUP.cmd then go into your GameData\Locations directory then enter any track folder and edit TRK file(s) : add this Instance line just after SKYBOXI Instance :

Instance=PeterBoese-GTR233-dynamic-clouds
{
Moveable=True VisGroups=(38)
MeshFile=PeterBoese-GTR233-dynamic-clouds.gmt CollTarget=False HATTarget=False ShadowReceiver=False

In GTR2 video option menu if you set HIGH/FULL TRACK DETAIL then you will see Peter Boese Dynamic Clouds

Been several years since I've played GTR2 and never installed the anniversary patch. But now I'm intrigued and will reinstall and add this anniversary patch. Can't wait to try it out!
please skip v15.9 (8 months old) and wait for the 16th anniversary v16.0 on september 10 because this will be a major update : better moving wipers with better hq rain, better 4k skies with dynamic clouds, better hq physics/tyres and a lot more cars/tracks fixes :)
You must be aware that there are 2 games in anniversary patch : first base game is still there (you can delete it via GTR2_SETUP.CMD though) and not modified (stock simbin v1.1), second is HQ game with all patches and updates. Some textures updates can be shared between both (4K skies, hq rain,...) but the most important are exclusive to HQ version (moving wipers, motec and most patches, dynamic clouds...). There are tons of small bugs and glitches in simbin v1.1 so when I read some people saying they prefer stock game experience I think to myself they certainly not have played GTR2 enough to see all these bugs, it is like press journalists or now youtubers who give a review/notation after only few hours of gameplay.

Good tips, thank you! For sure, I'll wait until September 10. I suspect I'll end up deleting the base game via GTR2_SETUP.CMD and go strictly with the HQ version.
 
this week I have updated TVR cockpit because this car has great physics but view is not correct by default with a huge dead angle where you could not see the opponents in that angle view.
Now it is a lot more drivable and will be available next week for 16 years anniversary patch :)
