Well that went bad for me :whistling:

I decided to wait last minute to install the track, and I only had fifteen minutes of lag filled practice. qualified, then decided to switch cars so I started in the back. In race one, I messed up and hit one of the cement pillared cones and my car was murdered !

Race two was better- I finished :D! Had more lag, but some awesome racing with @Gundars Brigis and Dennis. Thanks for that, that made this event very fun for me . At about mid race, I hit another cone and spun around, sorry for scaring you there @Reggie Blain Snr! I then finished near the back :cautious:

Hopefully I get the internet sorted, this is getting ridiculous :devilish:

I soooo love this track. Used to drive around with those Ford Escort's V8's alot a few years ago on it.
The races itself wasn't really that exciting for me.

R1, on the first lap, I were behind @Björn Golda and he somehow made the car look much bigger than it is, so I missed my breaking point. :whistling: It lead to my left rear wheel touch the grass, and thus, I spun and watched how my car went backwards while people passed me. Luckily, no damage received, and I could go on. I also were in luck for once, and started to catch up to people.
Some even made mistakes, so easy passes there.
Rest of the race I spent by myself and finished 5 or 6.

R2
Got a good start, and had a fight with a yellow BMW in the first few corners. Thanks to the road turning right, it worked in my favor, since I were on the outside on the previous corner, which was a left hander. So the BMW had to slow down and tuck in behind me. Another BMW were in front of me, but I also passed him as well. So on the 1st lap, I am now in the lead, and 2nd lap is coming up. @Matthias Klein and @Reggie Blain is closing in thou. I know they were gonna pass me, so I wasn't about to pull up any fight at all.

However, I missed my breaking point in T1 and for a short moment I went off road. :whistling: But I had the momentum with me, so I was soon back on track. Down to 5th or 6th and the hunt slowly started. Manage to pass all of em (some passes were made due to mistakes) and then spent the remaining laps by myself and finished 3rd.

Well, that was a really nice track/car combo :)

I thought I had a good speed while training yesterday. Unfortunately, that wasn't quite true. Fortunately, I found a bit more time and got pretty fast - still, @Matthias Klein, @Reggie Blain and @Reik Major seemed to be out of reach and @Daniel Linder was a tiny bit faster in P2.
Thus, I opted to go into qualifying race-fueled - nailed a close-to-perfect (for me ;)) lap and managed to qualify in P4.
Started fairly good (I've known the Seat for some time, now ;)) and kept P4 although Daniel was pushing hard - up until the point were he hit the grass, that is ;)

With that threat gone for now, I could re-gain some time on both Reggie and Reik who didn't seem too much faster all of a sudden - actually made it to their bumpers and a sub-par T4 on their side got me past Reggie

Unfortunately, much like passing Bob back at Nords, that apparently made me too excited as I hit the grass getting out of the big bend which send me spinning - Reggie fortunately managed to steer clear of my car and while the track map indicated a good time to re-join the track, @David Kingshott bumping into me determined it might've not been clear where I was going as he swerved right but still got my bumper- sorry about that! :(

With some damage and a flat tyre, I went to the pits and while I did half the gap to the guys in front, my main goal was to not get lapped by Matthias ;) Worked out, finished P12.

Starting into race #2, I kept P12 through the first few corners and went on to gain a few positions - got by David & @Gundars Brigis first but had to forfeit a position to @Nelson Ullinskey soon afterwards.

After a small "bump'n'off" (no lost positions), I regained that one and together we hunted down @Reggie Blain Snr

After quite a few laps to get to the next group of drivers, I reached both @Jonas Dautaras and @Janko Balej - got by Jonas after he kind of missed the Esses and lost a few tenths. Janko was a fair bit harder, though - had a nice battle for three-ish minutes until I got past :)

Reik seemed to be in problems as he was in P5 in front of me - a small off on his side got me close but I quickly readjusted the gaps by spinning one last time - thankfully not losing much time or positions, but Reik was out of reach. Almost lost P6 as @Piotrek Blaszczak went off and reappeared on the track rather out of control - phew, close one, especially as the netcode seemed to like me ;) Janko wasn't as lucky, unfortunately.

Finished P6 in the end, which I'm fairly happy with, considering having started 12th :)

Thanks for racing everyone, and I'll say it again - give Thursday's combo a go, it's great fun :)

I was really happy with my car for all respects but one,

I never practiced starts with it.

Both launches, starts were very bad losing me places both times. In the end I had good fights on both races though in my efforts to try my best I did collect the barrier on the outside of the track at the top of the first mountain, at least three times in R2.

It's always nice to have a good crowd. Don't forget to test drive the Audi for Thursday!

I won't make this one, unfortunately - however, here's the skinpack link for those of you who don't wanna see Dennis & Alex (and those who haven't signed up yet ;)) driving around in that default-ish red-white MIni ;)

If you want to see how other RD members have designed their cars, feel free to download & install the RaceDepartment Race07 skinpack (v201439):
For more information on the pack and how to get your car added, see this topic.

@Björn Golda

Seems like your Audi is not gonna make it. Tell your mechanics to hurry!

No worries, it's gonna be a surprise attendance using an alter ego or something ;)

BTW - that might be just me being weird with gears, but doing a few laps yesterday, I found limitting the gearbox to a 5-speed worked pretty well for me - 5th gear at 26/39, IIRC, or pretty much just the SimBin default setup from Nords ;)

Yeah, I took the car out for a couple of laps last night, and I'm gonna stick with six gears. I'm more concerned when it comes to turning. With those high speeds, I felt the turning ratio wasn't that great. Might just been me thou. Sometimes you're in groove and sometimes not.
