GTL Troubleshooting Thread

Fro the FOV by holding down the Crtl button and move your mouse forwards or backwards with the left button on the mouse pressed.
Up and Down in the cockpit with the right mouse button pressed and move forwards and backwards with the mouse

it is a old sims so it does not have the latest way of doing things.
in the folder \GTLegends\UserData defviews you can adjust stuff in the cam file open with notepad

Great little tool Paul.
I used to use it but ive got a turbo mode in my Avg that will do the same or something simular

you can turn off background processes that will speed up the pc for gaming can help with underpowered machines,

I'm one of those persons that uses an average run of the mill computer so i use Gamebooster and the 4gb patch for all the sims i play and it helps .

I also went into my plr file and turned on High Process Priority and every time i start up GTL i go to my Task Manager and i turn CPU Affinity on for all cores.

Don't do anything yet. I'm helping one of mine with a problem that occured last night. They are using the digital download from Steam. We were running the Mini KAD mod versus the aforementioned Escort at Empoli. Tracks been used before with no bother. Everyone had taken the Mini except this one chap who claimed that although he had bought an Escort, he couldn't get to use it. I tried and it was fine. I just wondered if you had any knowledge of a problem. Thread at Nogrip sheds no light and I suspect it's a Digital download problem but after suggesting various things we seem to be no nearer finding a fix. BTW he also claimed that the grass was black!

Still having trouble with my GTL , have download from steam en put it in a new folder when I go online get " invalid cd key" have to go back fill in the key go online then my G27 is not working an cant do anything in the setup screen, have to restart the computer an all over again cd key then I can do the setup for the G27 an go racing (Windows 8 ) drive me crazy:mad:
any idea what to do...?

@Hans Sneep is this using the Steam version? If so right click on the game in your library list, then click on properties. Choose the "updates" tab, and set the drop down menu to "Do not automatically update this game". This stops Steam messing with the game files.

@Tim Ling, Hi Tim thanks for reacting, what I did: download from steam copied all in a new folder "GTL 2" made a desktop icon an under properties - compatibility run under Windows XP an in the ex file as administrator, the result is what I describe above, to go online have to fill in CD key when on the server G27 not working have to restart computer then the same again fill in the CD key an then have to remap my wheel again!!

You could try to delete the online code from your registry and start over.
maybe an idea to make an new profile also,, (plr file might be corrupt )
are you sure you are using the right code and the online user registration.
get this mixed up and your on a whole heap of poo
Remember the trouble Warren had..

Hans, all this is very similar to my previous issues with GTL on Steam. I eventually resolved it by going back to using my old On-Line key from the original DVD version of the game.

Do you still have your old DVD version, I think you have been playing GTL from before the Steam version was released?
If so, you could try deleting your old key from the registry (as Rupe said), reboot the PC, create a new GTL User Profile, launch multiplayer, register a new multiplayer name, but this time use that old Code (from your DVD).

I feel your pain Hans, it drove me almost insane.

Failing that, I think Yves found a way around a similar problem with his Steam ver. Maybe you can ask him for help.

Thanks guys for the reply, first thing I did after loosing all at my computer crash install from CD , only forgot the trouble you have with inbuilt security (forgot the name) an how to remove it ! so that only give me steam.... to start over, at this moment it seams the trouble with G27 is over, bud still have to fill in the CD key, first question for removing it out of the registry, where can I found that ??
I already try to use the old CD key bud get Invalid key,if I read it oll correctly I have to remove it first from the registry ?

@Hans Sneep you still have to right click on the game in your library list, then click on properties. Choose the "updates" tab, and set the drop down menu to "Do not automatically update this game". Otherwise, every time Steam starts it will re-write the registry key, and you will need to enter the serial key again. I had this same issue, and this fixed it

Help! Just sorted out the multiplayer side of GTL. Now I can see the RD tracks so I click join, put the password in and get told I don't have the track! Odd as they are tracks I have - Donnington etc. Any ideas?
One of the quirks of GTL is that if you don't have a mod track, a default track name will be displayed in the list.
Check the GTL Racing Club posts and download the track you need.
