GTL "New Lobby" Fix - The definitive RD guide.

As requested in another thread, here's a simplified and collated version of the "new lobby" fix, which is what we'll be trying to use going forward.

The new lobby requires a new file and a small registration process.

1. Download the file and drop it into your GTL installation folder - download
2. Open GTL
3. Go to Multiplayer -> Internet
4. Click on the "Register" button

5. Enter your details - please note that this does NOT have to be your previous user/password combination. It will not affect your name online, as that is taken from the profile name.

6. Click the Orange Arrow - NOT the Log-In button - You will get a "Registration accepted" message

7. You'll be taken back to the Log-In screen, click the Orange arrow

8. At the new lobby, select RD game as normal.

ok, just reinstall as usual then. the only thing i noticed when looking at the pic attachment is you have abarth sounds uninstaller in there. this probably means you have installed some mods also. What I do when installing mods is to unpack them into a folder, not the game folder and then copy them into the game folder as not all mod addons unpack the same way and can curupt the game if not installed properly.

Don't give up as plenty of peps run GTL on vista, it just takes a bit of persuding to run.

What do you mean Bjorn?

That the link doesn't work or that the file itself doesn't work?

Remember that after you download the file and copy it to your GTL directory you have to register again for it to work.

Yes Bjorn, that is the file you need. It should be called "LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT".
Just copy the file and place it in your main GTL folder.

Hmm... You could try typing the online key again. It is common to type the online key incorrectly, often mistaking a V for a U.

yeah ok but without that online key you cant even start up the game so i think its more, but ill give it a go

There are two keys. Without the DVD-key you cant start up the game. But you dont type the Online-key until you click multiplayer in-game IIRC.

strange It should ask for the online key when you click multiplayer the first time, before registration.

I read earlier in this thread that you have to clear a registry, delete the "value" 10tacle. Then you can type it again when you click multiplayer as I understand it. BTW the dvd key is on the DVD, while the online key is inside the DVD cover (if you havn't noticed already )
