GTL cars in GTR-Evo?!?

Would it be possible to convert the GTL cars to GTR-Evo?
'coz i would love to drive the Ford Capri or the Escort on a track as Nordschleife. That way you can really feel like driving there in the early 80's with era specific cars....

Thnx for the reply but that is not the way i want to do it...
I really want to have the cars from GTL in GTR-Evo.
I mean GTR-Evo surely must have several improvements over GTL since GTL is the older one of the two (i'm thinking of physics and FFB).

Someone over at No-grip is converting the GTL cars.

I wont link to it as RaceDepartment are rightfully careful about discussing conversions.

But it seems that everything including working dials etc is possible as the converter has found.

Yep, I saw it today, and the modder is someone very well known here (cough... Mojo... cough) so we would have some concerns.

There seems to be a flurry of modded cars being developed for EVO right now, which may be good news or bad news, depending on whether / how they are incorporated into the on-line version. I certainly hope that they can't be used on Servers that don't have them installed, but based on some previous mods, who knows.

As far as I know, someone in the rF community converted the cars from GTL to rF. Now, this is extremely absolutely and positively frowned upon, to convert to a different game altogether. The way they got around this was clever, they made it in a certain way that it requires a woking GTL CD... Clever, huh? That way, it's legal.

I'm sure you can do it yourself for offline, but it's best to avoid releasing it

These mods have been released now, and he doesn't appear to have sought any approval from Simbin. Basically he has ripped the cars out of GTL and put them into GTR EVO.
He has posted (in response to a critic) that be is doing Simbin a favour by encouraging people to buy EVO instead of GTL. I wonder how Simbin would see this??

Without Simbin approval, we wont be supporting this mod at Racedepartment.

Yea it sucks, if he put a disc check or something it might have been allowed like Power and Glory

Maybe someone else could ask him if they can re-pack it and add a disc check?

CD check is a laugh. How difficult is it to download GTL disc image from the internet :/ If Simbin would convert the cars from GTL to GTR Evo, I'd pay for it

So what? How is it any harder to pirate a game? You can just as well download a disc image of any game.
Bypassing the disc check is hardly easier than pirating a game, it's a similar thing.
The check encourages people to go the legal route, but there will always be those who don't.

You can always buy GTL as a way of paying for the converted content

The best way to play GTL is in GTL. Whilst I admire the work of modders there will always be inconsistencies in converting game files from one sim to the other. Not to mention the feelings SIMBIN have on the matter and what that may mean to the PC side of their buisness.

I believe Simbin have said that though they don't support conversions of their content into there own games they are less concerned about them being put into GTR Evo.

They have said that any conversions of GTR Evo content to earlier games would not be tolerated.

I don't remember where this quote from Simbin was now.

Obviously they are happy to see original and new content added rather than internal conversions.
