Notes:

Important: Please pay special attention to Racedepartment's 2 Golden Rules:

1.If you hit another driver and disadvantage him, we expect you stop and let the other driver regain his position on you. If this costs you many places (eg first few laps) then consider this a penalty for your driving infringement. Doing this shows respect to your fellow drivers and will encourage drivers to be more careful. Please use some care when letting the other driver regain position, do not immediately stop your car on the driving line where it can cause further accidents.

2.Late sign outs or no-shows prevent others from entering club events. Some series have really hot seats and can be filled with ease for two or three times. If this happens too many times we are forced to terminate your club account immediately. Last sign out possibility is 1 hour prior to the start of the event (practice).

Not following these rules will result in your membership of the racing club being terminated at once!

Additional Notice: You will need to know where your "lights" key is. This event is going to be an evening kick-off, so there may be crepuscular overtones to the track, meaning headlights will be required. Due to the server limitations the races start at the same indicated time as each other. I'm going for an 18.00 start for both races.

TBH, it wasn't one of mine until the Herrmannator mini Enduro, where it all suddenly fell into place. It's a pretty simple course, and there aren't really any secrets to it, so the racing is naturally nice and close. :good:

  • Andy Marsden

I just find the thing quite bland to be honest, I like simple courses as mush as the complex ones but Dijon doen't really get the blood pumping, hopefully the car choice and the on track company will though :D

Just a reminder to all drivers already signed in (and to any that decide today that they want some skinny tyred Elite drifting action), you will need to download the skinpack to be able to drive tonight.

http://forum.racedepartment.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=608

It should be installed in the GTL\GameData\Teams\GTC65\Lotus Elite\ folder.

There are 10 skins in there of various clour/sponsor combinations, so hopefully we'll see a nice colourful grid tonight. :good:

Additional to Stuart's post, please can we have as many people on TeamSpeak as possible to add to the fun.
Hopefully i'll be on though I was having problems with it the other night so I can't guarantee it.

This is tricky! Did some laps now and I'm down to 1.41 i think. Havn't had time to play GTL much since I bought it. I think I will be sliding it around at the back of the field tonight:)

Could anyone provide me with a setup? I have no idea how to set up these old cars:) Tyre temps?

  • Andy Marsden

Best advice if you are new to GTL is to learn the tracks and how the cars behave before playing with the setup. I don't change much of my setup at the mo, the occasional tweak on the gearing, steering lock, fuel and brake bias/strength but thats it.
These cars handle WAAAY different to Evo as they aren't CAD designed modern day Touring Car's/GT Powerhouses', these are classic motors (most likely designed on the back of a fag packet) that require love and attention to drive. Mis-handle them and they will bite you in the ass!

As for lap times, never driven round either Dijon with the Elite so I can't say, Stu can you help here?
Have you downloaded the patch here as well?

OK. Thanks for the advice. Don't stress with the lap times, I know there is a lot to go:)

It's the charm of these cars i guess:) I drove with AI and they just seem to have much more grip, I understeered alot so thats why I asked for setups. I'm gonna treat this lady nice now and see if she behaves...

I got the patch and the skins so I think I'm ready for the race.

  • Andy Marsden

The AI's behaviour is dependant on their difficulty level so don't worry about that too much as it's in no way of an indication of what online racing is like. E
veryone is different and has a different skill level and driving style so don't worry if you are in a back pack battle, I may be a staff member but i'll be there too! :thumb:

@Knut, I've stuck my setup in the online folder if you want to try it (Elite Sam), good enough for top 10 GTL rank times so far, but no where near the benchmark.

Sam

PS. stick me up into main list please Stuart, I'll definitely be there, and on TS.

@Sam - done - good news mate

@Knut - off the top of my head, 1.41's not too bad. That kind of why I picked the Dijon's, as the racing should be nice and close here. And yes, understeer is the name of the game a lot of the time with the 60's cars. :)
