Most of the backmarkers who I encountered throughout the race were really respectful.

Some literally jumped off the road as I approached them, which is not necessary at all! A few also hit the brakes. However, this is not really a good idea at all and can quickly lead into an accident.

Leaving the racing line open and easing off the throttle while getting lapped is more than one can ask for! Just keep in mind that it is the responsibility of the faster driver to overtake without contact. He's the one who must decide where and when it is safe to overtake. The backmarker just has to support him the moment he makes that attempt to overtake.

Was that on the run up to the last corner? I was guilty of braking to let the leaders through because when i lifted off it wasnt enough and didnt want to hold anyone up through the corner, but it was my first race and your point of not braking and causing an accident is noted for the next race i take part in

I'm not sure if your question is directed at me. Actually I remember only one hairy situation from the race, which happened on the start/finish straight. I was closing in on a backmarker and was about to get behind him into slip stream when all of sudden he hit the brakes halfway through the straight. I was lucky to go around him since I only started to move behind him when I saw the brake lights. If I remember correctly it was a AMG.

Ah i see, yes it was for you mapu. I was in an all grey amg, but i dont think that one was me (correct me if im wrong please lol) i braked on the straight before that, just so happened to have someone with a broken car trying to let me past with a front runner behind me. That was pretty hairy!

but on the assumption that it was me i apologize mapu!

Any chance you can send me the replay please mapu? I forgot to save it after the race

i like learning from my mistakes, things look alot different from an outside perspective, i will chalk it down to being too cautious seeing as it was my first RD race
