Polyphony Digital have deployed a small update to Gran Turismo Sport, mostly addressing minor elements of the PlayStation 4 racing title.

Lightweight at only just over 100mb in size, update 1.14 doesn't contain anything particularly ground breaking in the latest popular Gran Turismo franchise release, however development team Polyphony Digital have worked hard at addressing the often pesky ratings system built into the game - addressing many fans concerns around the level of sensitivity afforded the points and penalty applications following contact with other gamers on track. A welcome move by PD that should help make for a slightly less frustrating experience for those who take GT Sport online.

Other minor changes include changes to the F1500T and miscellaneous Brand Central improvements.

Update 1.14 Notes:

Sports Mode
  • The judgement algorithms for the Sportsmanship Rating (SR) and Penalties have been adjusted.
Brand Central
  • The Mazda’s photo spots #4 and #5 can now be used.
Other Improvements and Adjustments
  • Fixed an issue with the Gran Turismo F1500T-A where the grip strength of the Super Soft tyres was too weak;
  • Fixed an issue wherein the chequered pattern when adjusting the “Peak Brightness Settings” on HDR compatible monitors during the initial setup was not displayed properly;
  • Various other issues have been addressed.

Dai Yoshihara's BRZ reminds me a lot about those classic D1GP machines in Gran Turismo 4... those things gave a lot of dudes some real hype. GT6 does have added Ken Nomura's revised Skyline as a fully detailed one, but that's about it. Let's see what's under Yamauchi's sleeves this time... also, why don't they add cockpits to Vision GT already? Also that stupid S-FR race version needs one, too!

GT Sport is significantly better than at launch, the driving experience feels pretty good now and it is a far more complete game.

It's easy to dismiss games like this but they remain the entry point for many into more serious racing games. GT is still the best at teaching cornering and braking technique in various car types and how to break down and learn circuits. A lot of more serious sims could learn a lot from this and make their games much more accessible in the process. Even race drivers at the highest levels have coaches.

True that, Gran Turismo is the most educative racing game since the first generation is out. Also, the one and only real license system which refers to your driving performance.

Many people bought into GT Sport for PSVR. It's a serious let down, Polyphony seem to be 'missing a trick' IMHO. A VR update, or at least news that they're working on one, would be great.

When discovering how limited the PSVR experience was it prevented me buying a PS4 again and this title to get a PSVR. Seems Sonys decision not to split titles features between standard PS4 and PRO has really limited what they could do with the VR.

Visually Id love to see this on a good HDR display or Projector.
GT was always a benchmark for visuals or on a technical level for some hardware aspects.

Yep maybe some more real tracks would be nice.

Dragon Tail and the Italian track Magione or so are nice tracks. But tracks like Silverstone, Watkins Glen, Sebring, or Laguna Seca are missing. Le Mans would be nice too
