Polyphony Digital have confirmed closed beta testing for Gran Turismo Sport will begin as soon as March 17th, with players offered the opportunity to become part of the test programme.

The closed testing programme planned by Polyphony Digital will allow players a first opportunity to sample the latest Gran Turismo offering from the Japanese gaming giants, prior to a public release tentatively scheduled for some time during 2017.

The developers have promised beta participants will have the opportunity to choose from a select rotation of cars and tracks each day to race online against others during the beta phases. Track and car selections will vary during this period, and will focus on different race class categories and course configurations. The online server will be available at selected time periods throughout the day with more information to follow at a later stage.

The initial phase of the beta programme due to start on March 17th will be open to US PSN IDs initially and rolled out further across Europe in a phased approach.

If you wish to apply for the opportunity to enter the Gran Turismo Sport closed beta programme visit the GT Sport Beta test page HERE.

The problem I have with either Xbox One or PS4 at the moment is that neither system are compatible with my wheel so driving titles are firmly on the PC by default with only shooters or quirky indie titles played on the consoles

i have a so called 'licensed playstation wheel' even with a PS-Logo and can't use it on my ps4. talking about the DFGT. and atm i see no reason to spend another 250 bucks for a wheel which supports the PS4

No hype. Deception over deception with GT since the 5.

I don't want that Poliphony Digital and SCE scam me again.

First release all the promised VGT cars for GT6, and later release GT Sport, that needs a lots of tweaks.

Looks great, and we have all been down this road before. Wonder if it will be closer to Forza or *Pick your PC Sim of Choice*.
Also, with most racing games/sims trying to take a bite out of the iRacing online MP pie I am wondering if this is ultimately going to make the sim racing experience be sans AI. Or, at the very least lack of development of AI.

Until GTR2 came along GT3 was my all time fave racing game, SO many good memories. But GT4 disappointed me with rolling single file starts amongst other strange decisions.....I bought a PS3 for GT5 and it killed the franchise for me, standing starts made a brief return until patched out (WTF??), Ai was awful (although to be fair not good in previous games), standards were awful, tracks ripped straight from the PS2 era just higher resolution. Didn't bother with GT6 and havn't even got a PS4. I get my fill from the many PC sims I have and have no need for a GT game anymore. PD would have to take all the best bits from all the PC sims for me to even sit up and notice them now.

kinda funny the feedback for a non-released GranTurismo is almost identically same everywhere - ai,sound, physics as major issues.

and why do all racing-games start with this modern 'E-Sports' stuff? Who is really participating?! people who participate in general for esport-competitions. The major folks just want to drive for immersion and the career-mode.

Btw, a replay-editor would be great for GTSports, that's where GTSports actually shine to me
