Trimmed out the VIPPER and ran a 38.3 on 50 L. A bit scary tho including a massive Colin McRae type pitch slide entering the esses by the ferris wheel! video to follow.

Oh did I mention flying the nose on Mulsanne? looked like an F16 rotating for vertical attack! LOL

Alas, I won't be there, most likely. Got a school board meeting I need to cover that night. Most irritating.

Probably still tool about the track though. Juuuust in case.

1 question: are those dashed lines in the long straight also count as a white line marking the edge of the track, or not? Should we keep an eye on them?

Stefan your running the 1979 track and we are going to race on the 1977 version you might want to praccy on the 1977 version instead of the 1979

That is which ever version of the track is linked in this thread. I wasn't aware that Virtua LM released more than one version of this track for the Race series to be perfectly honest.

Stefan in your track choice you should have the 1977 and 1979 version unless once again the version of the track have changed since the last time i ran on it

Nope it didn't change! There's a 77 and a 79 version, first section is totally different.

Yves, you really scared me there mate. Seems the version we are running encompasses all years from 77-85. Don't know where I the year 79 from. Any ways... :)
Hey Stefan, since we run pretty similarly in most cars and events, did that little voice in your head go, wow how did I get 4.5 seconds up on Eric already?:D:poke:

Track confusion!
Thread title = Le Mans 1977-1985(Full Version)
Choice of tracks = Le Mans 1977 length 8.5 miles
Le Mans 1979 length 13.6 miles
Neither of which is correct. '72-'78 length was 13.640km, '79-85 was 13.626km.
I take it we're at the shorter "1979" track?

It's very confusing.
Neither of the downloaded tracks have the chicanes but the '77 version has the tighter section at Tertre Rouge.
Clearly, the downloaded '79 track is cleaner and faster!

"....we are running the "ultra fast" 1977 layout that doesn't incorporate all those wimpy chicanes!"
Confusing!

Tetre Rouge might be tighter in the '77 version but I like it better. And the track is still ultra fast. I did a quick lap at the '79 version as well and I was only 1 second faster.

The difference between the 77 and 79 versions are simply that T2 and T4 are tighter. Other than that they are identical. I think the 79 version flows a bit better through those two corners, but it makes no real difference to me. As Peter mentioned, the difference in lap times between the two versions is minimal.

It makes no difference to me either. As bad as I am, I need to spend time on the right track, for every little difference!
