Well they say that you should cool off before doing a race report but....

some STUPID program decided to interupt GTR mid race. I hade just overtaken Steve and was enjoying watching Neil G and waiting for a chance when I was thrown back to the desktop. I ALT-TABbed back but it was just showing me a flickering screen so I promptly exited. I hope it didn't prove troublesome for others.

Man I am ticked off!!

Big apology to Wally in the 2nd race, wasnt even intending to pass at that point, dont know what happened.
Edit: Just watched the replay and it was a light side by side touch, but it sent you flying.Wish Simbin could get there on-line code up to rFactors standard. I got hit from behind at the start and it sent the car so high I thought I might need oxygen.
Bit of a laugh this track but not really suitable for on-line racing, especially for aussies on a European server, when the cars a jumping about so much

No worries Grant. All I felt was a hit in the rear which sent me into the tyres with unrepairable damage. On a track like this, stuff like that is bound to happen. A couple of times I hit someone stopped sideways on the track only to be stopped and hit myself.

Race 1, I didn't qualify deliberately to start from the back of the grid - I didn't like my chances starting in the middle of the pack where I usually end up. I managed to tiptoe through some wreckage to quickly get back to the middle of the field without incident, and finished about 11th or so, after a bit of a chase with Andrew Dawes. I think we had some position changes as we both made mistakes, but at one point I ended up facing the wrong way after clipping a kerb and had to do a 3-point turn to get going again.

Race 2 was going OK, I was up to P9 after managing to pass Andrew Dawes and feeling in a much better rhythm, but copped irreparable damage in the tyre wall...

Street tracks... sort of fun, sort of torture.

I like the extra 20 mins idea ... bit more endurance, and unless you're doing the "driving miss daisy" thing then you are surely gonna have to pit :thumb:

... I choose the wrong damn thing every week with pitting

And oh yeah ... sign me up in the bear mini skin please ... (link same as ever ... will dig it out later if necessary)
even driving miss daisy can no longer do it Lee, as the race is now 33% longer and with an hours race i needed around 90% of my fuel tank, so everyone will now have to stop for fuel at some stage.

R1 L1 Flipped and punctured as result, got to pit, came out as P1-3 finished 2nd lap and was 1 lap down as a result and sitting 12 seconds back of 19th. Also when pitting I screwed up and added another 25L fuel, duh... Managed to finish 14th which was a good come back.

R2 good racing from 14th on grid and got to 8th at the finish.

One thing I noticed was when all the crashed happened, lots of cars where spring in to the air. you guys should edit your .plr file and change the following to reduce the springbone effect:

BoneSpring Threshold="0.10000"
BoneSpring Min Constant="25.00000"
BoneSpring Max Constant="120.00000"

these will reduce the explosive springs during crashes, nudges, and knocks...

Just looked at mine and it was already set like that, and it didnt stop me flying

  • Andrew Dawes

I spent 24 laps racing with a stuffed car (out of my control) and the only thing going through my head was - why did i bother setting up the car for this track because the aerodynamic and suspension problems changed all that.

Q3
2x10th places.

Can't beleive how many big hits my seat took in the 2nd race and kept going. albeit slowly and not turning all too well.
