In Fuji I struggled very much as I went off track with two wheels in the first lap and I guess my car even flipped - so from that moment on I had suspension problems and was not able to get around the right hand corners as fast as usual.. All in all still a fun race.

Race 2 - Had a cracking battle with Marc Good for a few laps. Marc gets an honourable mention here, because he was following me for about 4 laps, and he just tagged me in the uphill hairpin. Bear in mind this is Pau, and nigh on possible to pass on. He went past, then apologised and allowed me to take my place back. Top class, Marc :good:. Then the swine passed me on the last lap and nicked 4th off me anyway :D, still 5th is a top result for me.
Thanks for the mention, mate. Good driving by you, had some good blocks there in your line as I managed several times to drive faster on the start/finish straight but you closed the door really well. It was fun to race right behind you as it kept the concentration very high.. man was I sweatting after that race, lol
Sorry for passing anyway, I just had to.. would have been even more fun if I would've been able to do this right before the finish line ;) Looking forward to another battle in a race..

Yay, sorry for standing still on the start in race 3. I accidently hit Alt+Tab instead of Shift+Tab and when tabbing back to the game it flickered so I could not see anything.. it just took me too long to finally get ouf the race, sorry. I would have loved to get into another battle :bye:

Great evening, thanks to the organisation! :victory:

Again an enjoyable race evening,

First race with the Mini(setup from Warren) Qualify 8 get a bumb here and there during the start but finish 6 much better than last time on Warwick.

race 2 with the BMW CLS (the red wan) first time I did race this car a nice hand full, start place 13 not that good but start was not good aether drops almost to last place but get back to finish 9 place( cramp in my right leg) so still having a nice race evening, thanks guys see you next time

Hans

Well I enjoyed this one, but I enjoy all GTL racing. It's such "seat of the pants and hang on" driving, never knowing when the next spin will be.

I also enjoyed the track, certainly more difficult than Goodwood, but maybe I had local knowledge. :).

Pole position in both races, unheard of for me. Didn't convert either of them though, so I can't be fed to the crocs. :croc: :steve:

Race 1, I was too careful off the line and ended up following Eck for the whole race, but couldn't quite get him. P2 was good.

Race 2. Really fluffed the start this time, went from 1st to 4th gear for my first change, kinda killed it. Sorry if I held up a few behind me. Worked back through the field, helped by a couple of funny spins in front. Managed one bad spin of my own (on one of the easier turns too :) ) and a few smaller off's but generally held the Capri on track. Damned hard work though, and some white knuckle moments. All good fun. Finished another P2, but who cares about where we finish.
No problems about the hit at the hairpin Marc, it was easy to lock em up at that turn.

Thanks to all who turned up, not quite the Goodwood turnout, but still enough to have fun.

Not on the ball tonight at all. Been doing the 'man 'flu' thing all week not been able to utter a word for the past 3 days without sounding like a bad Marlon Brando impersonation.:pissed-off: So anyway, in between driving I was coughing and spluttering which made turning corners or catching the rear end drift a bit tricky.

So, excuses over - the cars:

First of all neither gave me the 'thrill' of the V8's last week but in their own way were fantastic.

Abarth: rev,rev,rev,rev,rev,rev,rev.............turn.........................rev,rev,rev,rev,rev,rev. (repeat)
Fantastic fun, Tyre smoke a necessity. God knows about qually and race, I was having too much fun with this wee beasty:dance2:

Escort:

Ooooooooo......................arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....................OWW!!!
That pretty much summed it up. When I settled into what I thought was a nice rhythm with the car it would turn 'round and bite you on the arse big time. Although had great drifting style fun for a few laps it would all come to a sticky end when complacency (and a bout of coughing fits) set in. Still qualified 10th, got a good start off the line and was going fine for a couple of laps..............then it all went wrong. The magnetic barriers pulled me into their grip time after time as I wrestled with hot tyres and a psychotic Ford. Not really my cup of tea.

Looking forward to the day of GTC65 and a bit of four pot Lotus action...hint,hint ;)

Thanks to Warren and all you fellas for another lovely GTL evening. Next time I promise lurgy free action from myself (Though can't say the driving will be any better.) Off to be bed now with a steaming Lemsip and Kelly's Heroes on divx.

Laters.
Simon:)

And so endeth the driving lesson for the Abarth. Maybe Simon should write us more tutorials like this, one for each car, and we'll start a special Bacon's driving school, the clear and simple way.

I can add my tutorial of my race 2 start in the Capri (titled, "how to destroy your rare pole position).

Wait, wait, green, go....wheelspin, wheelspin, c'mon go, wheelspin, quick change the bloody gears then....straight into..errr 4th, oops......!@#$&*(*&^ , c'mon, c'mon, go you swine, .... well finally :rabbit::snail::clown::deadhorse: .
