I have to have a chance to win, otherwise what's the point? Just saying this so you know what's wrong (why your grids are so puny). I used to have my own league for years, I know what I'm talking about.
Actually, you don't. While the need to win may be your one and only motivation to race online, you do not speak for everyone. It has nothing whatsoever to do with grid sizes as you can clearly see by checking the attendance history across RD's clubs. Not one RD club has ever run a split-server system. And nor will they.

I have to have a chance to win, otherwise what's the point?
I don't know... to socialise? To have fun with a group of mates? To learn from the faster guys and improve your own driving? For the pleasure of driving rather than the expectation of podiums? To increase the grid size and encourage more people of your own skill level to sign up, giving you people to race against? Take your pick.

Split grids are not workable and would not happen even if they were. This is a club, not a league. It's just for fun, not for points and prizes. If you don't bother racing people that are faster than you, then you will never get faster yourself. Hot lap and race the AI all you like, but it will not make you better at racing real people. Also, it's not all about speed speed speed. It's about consistency, which is far more important.

And please, ditch the "old fart" excuse. We have people here that are 60+ and regularly beat people half their age.

im in! and on push to talk :)
You're in
Was a bit busy today hanging with my friend Mr Hobbs at Road America and checking out some crazy looking car. Thanks to another friend @FeltHat for the assist.

I ran 30 laps on a set of tires and only the last 2-3 laps dropped off a bit. Still more grip at that point than iracing ever has. That tire model is brutal but that's a whole other whatever.

Like Mike, I do some sort of full stint and pit stop or if I can I run the equivalent of a race. If it's a track, car or combination I need to learn then I try to run 100 laps but that doesn't happen too often lately due to 'real life'.
