You guys are too fast for me, I mean like 3 seconds a lap. So if you want me to race with you boys you need to keep the fast guys in there own race and put the slow guys like me in my own race with other slow guys. I have to have a chance to win, otherwise what's the point? Just saying this so you know what's wrong (why your grids are so puny). I used to have my own league for years, I know what I'm talking about. You fast guys ruin it for old fat guys like me, I want to podium, I want to win.

    Think about it ....

It's club racing, there's no point in comparing it to league. If you want higher place by removing faster guys from the grid then is there a value in it? Keep in mind that we race for fun- in my case i don't mind my place as long as i have good fun and fight, no matter the place.

Our grids are tiny and you want to split them even further? (btw i remember you having great pace)

I'm going to have to agree with @FeltHat there is far too few of us to have any splits.
I can only suggest a few things that may help you get that little bit faster.

Practice as much as humanly possible.
Learn what any alterations will do to your car in your car setup. Never stop trying to find the best setup up you won't you will always and should always look for improvement.
Always make a note in your mistakes and the car's mistakes there is a difference. Your mistakes can only be fixed by practice. The car mistakes can only be fixed by making a better setup up. Whilst practicing always push to the maximum, it doesn't matter if you go off sometimes this will help you what you need to alter in the car setup to prevent that off.
Practice and plenty of it is key in improving I cannot recommend this enough.

Listening to advice. Searching out set-ups to give you a head start. Of course not all set up to work for everyone but it may give you an idea where you need to go and if you know what you're doing you can alter it to suit you a little better. And like I briefly mentioned knowing what you're doing is crucial in making a setup.
And you are not alone in being an old fart myself nearly 58 and there is many older than me and faster than me.
When I first started I would be lucky to get a clean lap without touching the green stuff or finding myself in the gravel.

A word of advice that I got was to get on that leaderboard and practice, practice and practice altering your setup to improve your time and don't quit until you're into the top 10 or better.
And I've been doing that for two-and-a-half years and I can safely say most of my entries are in the top 5 if not at the top. It's hard work it's a long time but with practice and learning how to alter your setup is key to get those wins.

With time and learning all the above. You will open up opportunities for other racing sims, league racing etc.

Club racing is for casual fun which doesn't mean you can't take it as seriously as you like for your own improvement. Which I like to describe and have often said I take my fun seriously. But obviously not at the expense of others.

Like many others it's not about where you finish it's about having fun to the finish.
So get on that grid because if you're not you will not improve.

    Never give up on improving.

I am usually 2-3 seconds behind the faster guys, but I still race because is fun and community is good :) Sometimes when the there are more people on the grid, I can compete with the rest of them who have similar pace.

Once even happened that I finished race 1st, as I got lucky and beated all the faster guys. @FeltHat can confirm that, as he was breathing down my neck the whole race.

Mario, which race was it? :p:D

Also, another question for 2 servers and splitting the grid, how would we decide who goes where? Whos is slow and whos fast?

Actually, you don't. While the need to win may be your one and only motivation to race online, you do not speak for everyone. It has nothing whatsoever to do with grid sizes as you can clearly see by checking the attendance history across RD's clubs. Not one RD club has ever run a split-server system. And nor will they.

I don't know... to socialise? To have fun with a group of mates? To learn from the faster guys and improve your own driving? For the pleasure of driving rather than the expectation of podiums? To increase the grid size and encourage more people of your own skill level to sign up, giving you people to race against? Take your pick.

Split grids are not workable and would not happen even if they were. This is a club, not a league. It's just for fun, not for points and prizes. If you don't bother racing people that are faster than you, then you will never get faster yourself. Hot lap and race the AI all you like, but it will not make you better at racing real people. Also, it's not all about speed speed speed. It's about consistency, which is far more important.

And please, ditch the "old fart" excuse. We have people here that are 60+ and regularly beat people half their age.
