ETS 2 Germany Update 6.jpg

SCS Software have confirmed ETS 2 will be getting a bit of a makeover soon, with Germany the first location to be updated to current graphical standards...

Having just deployed a major update to both ETS 2 and American Truck Simulator that adds plenty of new content and features, fans would be forgiven for thinking SCS Software would have a bit of a rest on their laurels for a while and enjoy some of the success from recent weeks.. not so.

Having long held a desire to bring the simulation fully up to the modern standards employed in recent map expansions, this impressive development team have now confirmed that work is already under way improving older sections of content, with the German region first to get some more love and attention by the graphic artists over at the Czech based studio.

So everyone loves a good 'before and after' don't they? Good, let's begin then:

i would really love to see smaller lorries and vans :) especially at the begining of the career
In older ETS/GTS versions you got the chance to start with a cheaper used truck.
The much more older 18 WoS games had dealers for used trucks(cheaper, but much more maintainance to pay). And I´m missing the cb radio chatter - even with your own drivers, when their trucks in your range(yes you could see them on the road!) I hope we will get these features back some day.

I've been driving ETS2 lately (with all the DLC), and I really love it (around 300+ hrs on Steam). I bought my brother the base ATS that is currently on sale on Steam. He's having some life issues. I know he likes just driving long distances (IRL) and I'm hoping this will be a bit of therapy just to do some contracts and chill. I personally find driving (500+ km) contracts a form of meditation. I don't listen to music and just enjoy driving and following the GPS. Very relaxing. IRL I'm a programmer and really respect the great coding that is done for ETS2 (and ATS) and love it it. Kudos to the developers! Any DLC (map) they put out will be bought by me.

awesome news can't wait!! Only down side is I'm a tad OCD about the map and driving all the roads....this'll really kill my percentage!! ;)
I wish you'd get the yellow (already driven on GPS), just by driving pass a filling/rest-stop area. Why should I pull in if I fully gassed and I have fatigue turned off? Maybe to grab a coffee/beer or chips.
