Gear drops to neutral when shifting down

Hi,
There's seems to be a strange problem (or is it an option?) where when I press both gears levers the gear drops straight to N. This happens to me accidently when I shift down. Is there an option to cancel this??? using G25.

Why do you press both paddles at once to change gear?
Yes it is a setting, in Controller.ini I believe. I use it to prevent me from accidentally going into neutral from 1st while braking.

I am not, but it happens accidently, and then I spin cause I shift to R....
In anycase, I will look into the controller.ini file - thanks!

Not sure how you can accidentally flick both paddles at once.
I usually (subconsciously) tuck my fingers between the paddles and the wheel when I'm not changing gear, or if I'm using the gear stick.

well... you don't let go... and inforce me to reveal my bad habbit for many years now...
For some strange reason I tend to upshift and then rapidly downshift particularly before hard breaking... don't ask me why... bad habbit.... so what oftne happens is that this very rapid up and down ends out as hitting both levers at the same time...
Anyway - found the parameter on the controller plr file and I disabled it...

I presume the reason it's like that by default is this is how you select neutral in a lot of road going cars with paddle shifting.

In the Controller.ini (for whichever wheel you have) there is a line for alternate neutral activation.

Alternate Neutral Activation="0" // whether to select neutral if shift up & shift down are pressed simultaneously

0 is the default value. 0 = disabled, 1 = enabled. Hope this helps

It's 1 by default for me with a G25... Maybe it varies with controller?
