Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS)

I think I need help. In the last 24 hours, I have grabbed a few opportunities off Steam's Lunar New Year Sale.

I bought all the DLCs for Assetto Corsa and then I bought Projects Cars 2 Deluxe Edition.

I have been suffering from GAS for a few decades now as it pertains to bass guitar gear (i.e. instruments, amps, cabs, pedals, etc...).

Now, it seems that I am repeating the pattern with sim racing.

I wonder if a direct drive rig would make me faster in online races?

So far i could not find a solution for GAS.
Only thing that helped shorttime was to acquire something new (looking at my sim stuff and my electric guitar + pedals here)
