AMENDED TO INCLUDE V1.21 INFO

Main changelog for v1.21:

  • Corrected bug that caused CTD on startup in some systems (no longer requires adding a DEP exception for GSC.exe)
  • Lots of optimization work to improve FPS / stuttering issues
  • F-Extreme physics reviewed to rectify a few errors
  • AI revised for improved behavior and minimizing difficulties with tighter corners
  • Multiple qualifying rules introduced in v1.20 have been temporarily removed to fix some errors - it will be added back in the next update.
INSTALLATION:

If you had already updated to v1.20:

Run GSC Sync to update, or unrar this package into your GSC2013 folder, overwriting files when prompted.

If you had not yet updated to v1.21:

Check the info below:
Game Stock Car Extreme v1.21 is now available

IMPORTANT:
Mods that have loose files that conflict with original game files will cause trouble - make sure your "Shared" folder in particular is clean before you update. For the same reason mods & addon tracks might require some updating in order to work properly.

Full v1.21 installers will come shortly. In the meantime if you don´t have the game yet, head to www.game-stockcar.com.br, download the full v1.15 installer and update to v1.21 with GSC Sync or one of the update packages below.

If you already have GSC2013 v1.15 installed, you may update to version 1.21 by running GSC Sync from your root GSC2013 folder.

Alternatively, download the update packages below (2.3GB in size) and unrar the contents into your GSC2013 folder, overwriting files when prompted:

Main changelog for v1.21:

Content

Cars:
  • Added Stock Car V8 2014 season to Stock Car V8 series
  • Added Formula Extreme series
  • Added Formula Vee series
  • Completed full Formula V12 field + updated graphics
Tracks:
  • Buenos Aires (4 layouts)
  • Spielberg (2 layouts)
  • Spielberg Historic
Features & fixes:
  • Added DRS functionality + rules (for F-Extreme / f-Reiza)
  • Added option to restrict prime / option tire compound selections per track
  • Revised tire physics on all cars in preparation to new tire model features currently in development
  • Added multiple tire compound options with corresponding tirewall colors to F-Extreme / F-Reiza
  • Adjusted dirty air physics for more realistic behavior
  • Adjusted engine cooling properties in all cars
  • Adjusted AI performance for wider range specially in lower strentgh settings, and more consistency all around from track to track, series to series
  • Fixed bug with AI performance discrepancy from quali to race (RaceQualRatio=XX parameter now works in AIW files, lower than 1.0 value will result in slower qual times relative to race, higher values will do the opposite. By default AI should be about 2% faster in quali; remains an issue with AI being too quick in practice sessions)
  • Increased rearview mirror resolution for all cars
  • Corrected FOV / POV + tv cameras to the same standards for all cars
  • Updated rumble sounds to be more "bassy" on all cars (for Buttkicker and other similar systems)
  • Adjusted trackside cameras in all tracks for more realistic framing / tracking
  • Adjusted some inconsistent road & terrain properties, fixing some overdone high frequency bumps
  • Various environmental / lightining enhancements (new skies / fog and other updated shaders);
  • Introduced new Foliage shader which looks better & is more optimized to provide performance boost
  • Added 3d tyre lods at Granja Viana to help ease performance issues
  • Added 3d Armco at Interlagos

Known issues:
  • The F-Extreme ERS system has been simplified for this release - basically, the battery is fully charged all the time and the power blending still needs work, meaning the driveability under throttle is not quite what it should be yet;
  • The AI for the F-Extreme does not use 8th gear or DRS;
  • The hard compound for the F-Extreme & F-Reiza does ot have its proper orange Pirelli sidewall label.
  • Championship races are being awarded double points.
All these should be sorted out in time for the next update.

@CasualRacer47: Maybe you are driving 2013 Stocks.
\GameData\Vehicles\StockV8_2014\StockV8_2014_cams.cam - this file is for 2014 cars. Try them in game. They should have "your" hood if you copy/paste stuff properly.
I indeed did that copy&paste in as well the 2013 stocks and the 2014 stocks - but INGAME there is still no hood perspective to be found by changing camera position.

I even studied the text contents of either old StockV8_cams.cam file in previous GSC versions and the two new version 1.20 files StockV8_cams.cam (of the 2013 Stocks V8) and StockV8_2014_cams.cam (of the 2014 Stocks V8)
and THE ONLY DIFFERENCE I saw in the HOOD lines in those text files where that in the old StockV8_cams.cam one line says
Fov=(70.000000, 60.000000)
while in the new 1.20 version it says
Fov=(60.000000, 60.000000)

and the the second and last difference is in the line
OLD
PositionOffset=(0.000000, 0.73, -0.380) //(Left-Right, Up-Down, Back,Forward)
NEW
PositionOffset=(0.000000, 0.73, -0.44) //(Left-Right, Up-Down, Back,Forward)

Now I even tried to only change THOSE TWO LINES in the 1.20 version files but that did not change a thing either INGAME and DID NOT bring back HOOD perspective INGAME on the V8 stock cars of either 2013 or 2014 in the new GSC Extreme 1.20.

Now I DO appreciate the efforts of Reiza. And the new HISTORIC SPIELBERG track is a very nice one (which year by the way was this layout driven?)
BUT a racing game without proper hood perspective to be driven on is to me worthless!

So, once again, please Reiza, put back on the Hood perspective into version 1.20 like you did in ALL the previous GSC versions! Thank you!

Hood perspective is there, just cycle through the driver cameras. If you're not seeing the hood, increase your FOV in your display options in game.

Please tell me WHAT that means.
WHAT is a FOV and
HOW can I increase that by doing WHAT? English is not my mother language and I am not familiar with that term FOV.

I however DID cylce through all camera perspectives before and HOOD wasn't there, just the "bare street" in front of me.

FOV means "Field of view". This is the angle between your "eyes" and the left and right end of your field of view (the frame). Your ingame FOV should be the same as the angle between your eyes an your monitor. (This ins't a good explanation. This is a good one:
)

With low FOV-settings, you have less periphial view in the game. Maybe you wont even see your hood.

EDIT: Yep, checked it and Hood view is there, the one after the cockpit. I can't see the hood either with my FOV-setting of 35. In higher settings it's visible, but I would rather stick to the correct FOV for your system. cheers

NOW THAT WAS THE SOLUTION!! THANK YOU; ANDREW JAMES !!!!

I did go to OPTIONS to the
(again newly freshly installed 1.20 version of GSCE)
and I looked at DISPLAY and VERTICAL FOV (whatever that term means): and it says VERTICAL FOV = 34 or 43 - (not sure in my memory which number it was).

You must know that I usually NEVER change any settings in racing games @ Display or Car Setup; simply because I do not know that those settings mean.

So then I checked at the OPTIONS/DISPLAY of all the older GSC versions including version 1.15 and then THERE it all said: VERTICAL FOV= Default.

So I do not know WHY in the new GSCE 1.20 the VERTICAL FOV was not on DEFAULT by default but instead on either 34 or 43 (not done by me, because I NEVER EVEN LOOK INTO OPTIONS-DISPLAY normally).

Anyways, I then changed setting from (either 34 or 43) to DEFAULT and et voila!!!
NOW GSCE 1.20 ingame DOES HAVE my beloved HOOD perspective like in every previous GSC version before - HALLELUJAH !

THANK YOU ANDREW JAMES and I APOLOGIZE TO REIZA for saying that there was no hood perspective (even though however you should probably check in your 1.20 if by default VERTICAL FOV is indeed not set to "Default" like in every other previous GSC version but instead on 34 or 43. Maybe someone else who is NOT a game pro also might miss Hood Perspective!)

THANKS and PLEASE forgive me!

Maybe you'll get good enough to drive from the cockpit view like most sim racers one day and you'll forget all about this hiccup.
:rolleyes:

Thanks for Ver.1.20 update, Reiza Studios.
I'm really impressed with the quality of each work. Everything is very well balanced and top-notch. :thumbsup:
I've been away from Sim Racing lately. But I'm back here because I can't help saying big "Thanks!" to you guys all.
Please keep up the great work. And I'm looking forward to the next update, too! :)

Wow, the update bring Tommi-TAG back!! lol

It's incredible in this day and age that updates of such sublime quality as GSC-E version 1.15 and 1.20 are free. Reiza Studios make most other studios support efforts look shabby and pitiful.

Thank you so much Reiza Studios; as soon as the crowd funding goes up, I'll be happy to donate towards any future updates/add-ons as I can't think of too many other studios who deserve such support.

Amazing update.

I love the FOV in this sim.

I'm only using one 23 inch monitor but I really feel like I'm inside a motor car.

The best sim for your buck that doesn't sacrifice anything to the others.
