FWD + Autogearbox = lost grip while shifting gear between 1st and 2nd

Hi~
I found some good FWD mods, like "Ford Fiesta ST 2006 v2.0" and "FM Honda Civic Cup v1.1 by scca1981".
But they has same issue that cars will lost grip (just a moment) while shifting gear between 1st and 2nd by autogearing, especially when going through a corner.
I can feel the grip changed from little sharp wheel FFB and little sound of skid while gear changing.

I never meet this issue when driving FWD cars in real life.
Is this "normal" in GTR2?
Can I tweak any parameter of these cars for avoiding this issue?

Thank you~

Not sure of my answer, which should be confirmed ... ;)

I already read a long time ago, that even if you use a H-Shifter and manual clutch in GTR2, you should always keep the automatic clutch on.
I don't remember why exactly ... but the feel you mention might be a consequence of the effect it has when setting the auto clutch Off.

If you're not with automatic clutch On .... try to activate it and test if it's working better that way.

Or, beforehand, check the gearbox settings for those 2 gears. ;)

Hi, Jempy:
I tried automatic clutch on and off, the results are the same.
And I tried to tweak the gear setting in garage menu, but all the values of gears can not be changed, it's really very strange, maybe I should change the gear settings by editing the related files.
Do you know what files define the working rules of autogearbox for specific car mod?
Thank you~

In fact, I never encountered this problem as I never used autogear ( even for tests to see the results of some skins or cockpit gauges done and let the AI drive ).
I suffer rather from allergy to autogear ! :roflmao:

According to what I know about that, I don't think there's a setting to modify in the plr.
Now for the gear ratios ... I know they are in a .GRB file for each car ... but is it possible to do something in this file for a autogearbox .... I really doubt this is possible, I'd rather think this is a feature included in the gtr2.exe.

Now, those ratios might maybe be tweaked to help you at this point of view .... but don't know anything about that ( as other physics either ... I prefer to let the specialists do in this matter :D ).

Sorry not to be able to tell you more about this problem.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I really need to consult it with gear ratio specialists. :)
I have opened the XXX.grb, and don't know what the number mean.
Before I meet gear ratio specialists, I will try to google some information about gear ratio calculator.

I guess fwd cars have less ability to manage high torque values than rwd. If you have installed 10th anniversary patch then you can go in garage setup then "advanced settings" : try to reduce both "engine brake map" and "engine map" to 0 then check in game if it is better or not

Hi~GTR233:
Thanks for your suggestion.
I set "engine map" to 1 (it can not be 0) and "engine brake map" to 0. But it has no effects on my issue.
By the way, I love the 10th anniversary collection. Thank you so much to you and all the contributors :)

And I have to say sorry to all of you.
The mod has this issue is "Ford Fiesta ST 2006", but not "Ford Fiesta 2009 Cup v1.03". My memory seems to have issue, too. (I have modified this error in my first post)

Ok so try to copy paste the working fiesta 2009 engine ( xxx.eng) into 2006 non working fiesta : rename 2009xxx.eng file as 2006 name and check if the issue is still there... Because I still think about a bad line in engine file.

Hi~GTR233:
Yes~ I do it, and this really REDUCE the grip loss while changing between 1st and 2nd gear.
Thanks a lot!

Today I replace the GRB and ENG file, and edit the HDC file according to the rfactor mod VolteXe.
https://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=VolteXe

The fiesta become a "Electric Vehicle" now. It have one gear only, so no more grip loss while gear changing because no gear changing FOREVER.

Note: I have upload the GRB, ENG and HDC files here. Please remove filename extension".txt" before using them.

You need to zip files with Winrar or 7Zip for such files.
Then you'll be able to upload them at RD. ;)

It's really strange, I packaged them as a 7-zip file, but RD still tell me "The uploaded file does not have an allowed extension."
I check the file property is "Fiesta_EV.7z: 7-zip archive data, version 0.4"
Is my 7-zip version too old?

I tried upload it with rar format, and failed again.
The file property is: Fiesta_EV.rar: RAR archive data, v1d, os: Unix

Sorry, I made a mistake. ( confusion with my league forum for not too heavy files ).

Uploading a little file in a conversation here is only possible with .txt or .ini files according to what I just tested.
If you wish to upload a file you can open with notepad, you just need to first use the "save file as" and a .txt format on your PC and it will be possible to upload it.

Just tried with a GTR2 .hdc ( saved as a .txt ) file and it works.
