The base of the game is great and fun, but if you experience it for a while it starts to be clear how unfinished and not polished product it is and the updates didn't improved it much yet.

What I like:
  • Environment
  • Seasons
  • Car list
  • Driving model
  • AI works better than in FM7
  • Less festival non-sense (compared to FH3)
What is not so great:
  • Unable to edit/delete previously created blueprints (and routes now).
  • Unable to leave online adventures whenever you want. After the patch there is apparently an option to quit when the adventure ends, but not earlier (didn't test it yet).
  • Unable to choose what class you want to play in the adventure.
  • Unable to play adventures outside of teams (in a racing game, really?).
  • The whole online experience is frustrating at the moment.
  • No class based rivals (FM7 had to bring them back, FH4 ignores it anyway).
  • Avatars look like aliens, tons of stupid/useless clothes to wear, very little of decent pieces. Really, not always stupid equals fun.
  • Frequent server problems.
  • Weird and illogical cars upgrade system.
Generally, I see a trend recently, where developers usually strip down some features (very often the great ones) and try to replace them with something new (very often unfinished, half-baked or completely useless) just for the sake of a change. Unfortunately Forza games are not an exception here.

  • The environment / graphics are a lot better than FH3
  • No stuttering (pc) solid 60fps on ultra, whereas FH3 was poorly optimized
Apart from that it's the same grind fest, I just prefer the freeroam aspect as it's simply gorgeous.
Looking FWD to any dlc maps

For my part i like FH4.
Especially the cruising around is nice.
Some things need to be fixed for sure. The device settings are messed up, shift grinding sound without reason and so on.
Many engine sounds are crappy and i hope thay fix it soon....

The seasons are very nice and the weekly rotation is interesting.
Graphics and performance is very good so far.

What i hate extremly is that festival-fortnite-emote-useless stuff.....
For god sake.... why....

When you get to 5 blueprints for a track then you need to replace, and can change around.
Of course, this limits the amount of routes you create from one starting-point.
Well, screw blueprints, but releasing the route editor without ability to edit and fine tune your route is something I can hardly understand.

Indeed.
Limited amounts of rewinds if you regret a checkpoint as well.

I bloody hope they patch it and fix it along the way. Though... I kinda expect them to leave it, and release a new and better one for FH5... Money talks.

I also have the throttle input issue with my HE pro pedals. Would be interested if anyone has found a fix.

Cheers

Forza Horizon 4 Service Check Update 2.jpg

Titled 'Service Check', the new and rather sizable update for Forza Horizon 4 is now available on all platforms.

Heading to the popular open world racer hot on the heels of the big route creator update from back on the 23rd October, the new build release and round of feature and game improvements is yet another welcome step forward for the popular racing title from Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, and again helps push Horizon 4 further in front of its rival arcade racing games as the 'go to' piece of high octane racing software on the Xbox One console.

Although historically a console focussed game, Horizon 4 of course continues to benefit from the association with computing giants Microsoft, and is now available for Windows 10 PC, with much of the update changelog today focussing on the PC version of the game - a relatively new platform for the Forza franchise and one that the developers appear to be quickly mastering as they look to move into new territories with this very successful and long running racing game franchise.

Service Check Update Notes:

Painting and Upgrade Options
New Advanced Car Painting options have been added to a number of cars – including the 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport -- allowing you to more easily paint sub-groups. This includes the ability to paint subsections of wheel rims.

New Wheel Rims
Series 3 also includes 41 wheel rims across 22 wheel brands, all of which will be found in the upgrade garage. This gives players the opportunity to further customize their favorite vehicles, as well as the chance to import tunes from previous Forza Horizon or Forza Motorsport games that they previously weren’t able to because a particular wheel type was missing.

Horizon Racing Cup
The Horizon Festival challenges you to win 12 seasonal championships with a prize pool worth millions of credits. For each event you must carefully choose and upgrade your car and compete against Drivatars or other players to win.

New Seasons & Quality of Life Improvements
In addition to new features coming along with the update, players can look forward to new seasonal new events, new cars, and new content in the game. Four new exclusive cars are on their way, along with eight brand new cars coming to the game for Car Pass owners.

The Series 3 update also includes quality of life optimizations designed to make players’ lives easier in the game. This includes the ability to bulk add DLC cars to the player garage – no need to individual purchase DLC cars to add them to your collection. Players can also now skip the post-race reward sequence, letting them get back to the action that much quicker. In addition, this update includes numerous fixes and improvements to game features like Route Blueprint, Team Adventure, and more. Pretty great game for what it is. Stunning graphics (that most importantly, run like a dream), ridiculously long car list. Realism is only visual, but still it's pretty amazing in it's own right
